The very fact the people still respond to Marissa after posting the same retarded takes for months will always remain humourous to me.
He seems to have gotten a lot worse lately. If he came over to my place, he‘d probably tell me that my brand of toothpaste is wrong, and I shouldn’t get it any more, and then proceed to show me sales charts for different brands of toothpaste to prove to me why he's right.

his replies are so predictable that if I don't add this addendum, he'll come up with a bad joke about toothpaste as a reply to this post in order to downplay it, as he does every time someone mocks him

It’s around this time of this year where Sony fanboys and elite journalists were shilling Cyberpunk 2077 for both the PS4 and PS5, while leaving most PC players let out to dry.

Meanwhile for me, this year, I’m thinking about getting the Judgement series:

Most, if not many, have claimed that this is the new age version of the Yakuza series but with detective work. Honestly, I’m looking forward to seeing if they’re right.
Judgment's absolutely worth your time, especially if you're a Yakuza fan. The first game goes on sale for cheap on consoles, too. I approve.

Imagine how boring the PS5 is, that you have to use fucking sales to defend your plastic box that has no games on it. I'm willing to believe that the Steam Deck has sold more than the PS5 at this point and that has more games than the 5 as well

All I ever see out of PS5 owners is regret and cope. Meanwhile, Steam Deck owners seem to be really enjoying themselves. Probably because they have more to do than try and pretend like Forspoken won't just be trash that'll hit the bargain bin before the end of the year.

Watching Hoeg Law and it seems Sony said fuck it and is now saying the entire MS/AB deal should no longer go through.
They've been doing that the entire time, haven't they? That the deal shouldn't go through because MuH cOd. Are they now pissy about Overwatch, Diablo and the other franchises?

A decade of guaranteed games is pretty much unheard of in these kinds of deals. It's crazy how much Phil Spencer is giving to try and get Jim Ryan to shut the fuck up.

Sony will compete with Tesla by putting PS5s inside cars.

oh boy here come the recycled Xzibit memes from 20 years ago
I blame Reddit for making memes into reality

PS5's lifecycle has pretty much followed it's predecessors. You're already seeing the switchover from PS4 to PS5 with God of War's sales and this was pretty much true with the PS4 as well with the switchover from PS3(which even got major exclusive releases up to 2017). Sony systems rarely had a ton of first party worthwhile titles within it's first two years. It's just that people forget those times. People want those big genre defining titles but those always come much later on in a system's life for the majority, it's very rare that they're there as launch titles or even in the first year.

The first quarter of 2023 doesn't really look like the PS5 is going to be hurting for new releases. And sony is expanding their game initiatives https://www.gematsu.com/2022/11/pla...ct-phase-three-to-include-more-than-10-titles

Stuff coming in from china and being directly published by them is something different from what SIE would do prior. Pretty much since the PS1 era their first party titles were dominated by their western studios. The PS2 only had one real outlier with Shadow of the Colossus making a splash but stuff like the Jak and Ratchet trilogies were far bigger than anything else sony put out outside of GT. The PS3 was pretty much where Naughty Dog kept it going with Uncharted and TLOU, and the PS4 was where God of War reestablished the series and Horizon also solidified itself as a new IP.

The system is shaping up no better or worse than other playstations when it comes to game variety.

PS4 only had Bloodborne and a shitty Ratchet and Clank remake for its entire lifespan. Most multiplatform games had its worst version on the ps4 with horrible frame rates and awful load times. PS5 is better in the technical field but I really think they should drop paid online.

That's what got me to drop sony after being a fandboy for the first three generations, in an age of live updates and multiplayer I really don't think online subscription has any place, even with graphic cards costing a shit ton and microsoft being ass, a pc is still a better investment when it comes to gaming.

That's only a fraction of why sony sucks, even with PS5 being sort of a powerhouse, they censor their versions of the games so really, what's the point.

Yeah but I got the feeling from their other bitch-fits that Sony would back off if they got a deal they thought was good. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

THEY KEEP EXTENDING THE FUCKING DEAL, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM THEM, JIM RYAN, YOU FAG?!
Jim Ryan wants Spyro

He will drag Bill and Bobby through hell in order to get a no concessions agreement for his beloved purple dragon. He will break activision apart with all the force of heaven and earth, and once they lie broken and beaten like a guitar hero controller after completing freebird on hard, he will get the Spyro IP at reduced cost.

REEEEE ONLY SOYNY CAN MONOPOLIZE! WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE WILL HAVE TO ACTUALLY COMPETE?
Yes, you do. I mean, you seemed to be doing pretty good at doing it back in ye olden days....

All games that were either exclusive to your system, or made by studios you owned. What's that? You don't care about making games anymore and are now pissed that Microsoft and Nintendo are eating your lunch, so you have to have access to a pre-existing franchise to compete?

Sucks to suck.

Spyro wasn't owned by Insomniac in much the same way Crash wasn't owned by Naughty Dog. Both IPs were owned by Universal. Much like today where Sony is having Japan Xdev work on Ronin but the IP is not owned by Sony.

The PS1 is a bit of a poor comparison because all the major hits were primarily third party and they did not have as robust first party IPs as they do now. Although back during the PS1 era they did not own Spider-Man and now they do and that was a popular PS1 game.

What Ryan is saying is technically true, they have no real history with making successful multiplayer games(unless you want to count Everquest). And it was only with the PS4 did they start seeing success with many of their own IPs start to rival more established series.

It's a lot of song and dance for these government bodies. Both Microsoft and Sony are either downplaying or overplaying certain aspects. It's expected that no side is going to be fully honest, especially since Microsoft knows first hand what happens when you lose an antitrust case(like they did back in the 90's against Apple).

They wanted content parity (something they have been paying Activtion to avoid), CoD should be on PS+ and all other gaming subscription services and that the length wasn't good enough

This is part of stream where Hoeg goes over what SIE say are 3 shortcoming of MS's deal, it's a fairly long watch.

After all this is over and Microsoft announces it's acquired Activision, a bunch of 343 devs are going to come up on stage and talk about their plans on how they're going to run Call of Duty really well because of all the lessons they've learned from Halo Infinite which will likely have it's plug pulled the moment the ink to this deal is dry..
