The only people that buy PlayStations are niggers who play Generic Basketball Game #120174771741®™ and Yellow Fever fuckers. It's been like this since the PS3
Sports games were ruined when companies started buying exclusive rights to their respective sports. Now there's no innovation.Well there was a time early on back when the Dreamcast existed that the sports audience was divided and this also effected the PS2. PS1 and N64 also had their share of official sports games as well. PS3 and Xbox360 was the first step in modern consolidation but it wasn't quite as set in stone as it was until near the end of that generation.
How can it be modern when that's been posted since the PS3 launched? I mean that's been used since 2006, it's 16 years old.the state of Playstation.webm

even at launch, PS3 had Resistance and Motorstorm. Comparing exclusives nowadays to past consoles is sort of an apples-and-oranges thing anyway, considering "exclusive" just means "not on specifically Xbox or Nintendo".And going "NO THIS TIME I MEAN IT IT REALLY REALLY REALLY HAS NO GAMES". Bullshit, what always happens is nostalgia fags can't be sated so once enough time has gone by they look at everything with rose tinted glasses. The PS5 has gotten way more quality and quantity much quicker than the PS3 and PS4 did.
If there's one thing that'll be remembered about PS5's launch, it'll be how it felt like it barely happened because it launched during a bombastic election in the USA and well into the midst of the Corona-chan pandemic, and then you couldn't buy one without jumping through hoops or buying ridiculous bundles for literally years.Give it enough time and they'll look back on the PS5 launch in much the same way the PS3 is currently idolized and they'll be squeezing their nostalgia boners going " AH GAWD HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THAT? THATS SO MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT WE HAVE NOW!"
I wouldn't really consider it apples to oranges since you can directly compare the games themselves and see how well they've held up. Hell the Souls series really did not change much as far as mechanics went from Demon's Souls to Elden Ring. They refined aspects of the games, but it doesn't invalidate comparisons.even at launch, PS3 had Resistance and Motorstorm. Telling me the sky is falling for the 1000th time isn't going to make it any different than the 999th.View attachment 3120548
What a lot of wishful thinking and self-inflicted delusions does to a sony fanboy

The only other I can think of is the new Ratchet and Clank game. Speaking of which, is it even any good? Haven't heard anything about it since the month or so it released.Man, the PS5 has been out for a year and a half, and- oh, you know what? Here's a fun game: How many PS5 games can you name that aren't also on PS4? List 'em right now, no searching elsewhere!
- Demon's Souls remaster
- Deathloop (also on PC)
- there was also a piece of FFVII Remake DLC if you wanna count that (also on PC via Epic)
It's unfortunate Motorstorm never caught on. Had way more fun with that game than any Forza or Gran Turismo title.I wouldn't really consider it apples to oranges since you can directly compare the games themselves and see how well they've held up. Hell the Souls series really did not change much as far as mechanics went from Demon's Souls to Elden Ring. They refined aspects of the games, but it doesn't invalidate comparisons.
Resistance never really became this huge franchise despite having more than 3 games. It kind of fell by the wayside the same way Red Faction did because everyone was putting out shooters to try and compete with Halo. Resistance 2 has half the game permanently gone due to it's online server closure while Resistance 3 put a greater focus on offline co-op which is a nearly extinct concept at this point. People essentially stopped really wanting shooters that revolved around a single player campaign and wanting always online deathmatches which is why Fortnite took off.
Motorstorm also tried to gain a major foothold on it's genre a few times and people were just apathetic towards it at the time. The appeal towards Motorstorm was the wreckage.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=X8ob8nXM6rUBut car fags want their brand names in the games and companies really seem hesitant to back stuff which shows their products getting crumpled like paper. So it was really kind of stuck in this situation where there wasn't a solid audience for it. Every kind of sports game seems to suffer from needing to go all in on realism or people won't show up. So the genre is kind of stuck between two extremes, either cartoony kart racers or realistic racing sims and there doesn't seem to be enough space for a middle ground. Even the recent Hotwheels game used branding out the wazaoo with real cars.
Exclusive or not though, it took both the PS3 and PS4 eons to get enough games of sufficient good quality with both exclusives and ports.
Uhhh do tech demos count? Because if they do you haveMan, the PS5 has been out for a year and a half, and- oh, you know what? Here's a fun game: How many PS5 games can you name that aren't also on PS4? List 'em right now, no searching elsewhere!

Ghostwire isn't exclusive PC has it also.Uhhh do tech demos count? Because if they do you have
-Deathloop
-DeS Reshart
-Astroglides playroom
-Ghostwire: Tokyo
So a shitty remake/remaster, a tech demo, and two properties owned by their direct competitor.

He said PS5 games that aren't on PS4, hence why I included it and Deathloop.Ghostwire isn't exclusive PC has it also.
Resistance was really cool when it wasn't clear if the Chimera were aliens or some weird experiment gone wrong, then they answered it way too soon as to what they were and how they worked/what their objective was. The setting was also really cool, but I love settings where humans are in retarded wars and then some worse thing comes along to make them snap out of it. Now that I think of it that describes the setting for both Gears of War and Halo, so it seems like a winning formula. It's unfortunate Motorstorm never caught on. Had way more fun with that game than any Forza or Gran Turismo title.
I had fun with Resistance as well. But the franchise kinda lost the plot after a while. No Resistance game ever lived up to lore and marketing preceding the first game. I think Sony would have had way more success with Resistance if they just built upon the lore and leaned more into the mystery aspect of the setting. I didn't mind the spectacle of Resistance 2 or 3, but each game had some spectacular ass pulls, and revealed its cards too soon. Fo example the pacing would have been far better if Resistance 2 didn't immediatly jump into the fall of the US and killing the protagonist.
Imagine if they kept this atmosphere for the entire trilogy

It's kinda baffling Sony still hasn't just created an analogue to the dev mode the Xbone and onward has. Sony might not want to develop a local emulator for PS1&2 but fans most certainly will if they're allowed to. The fact I can play more God Of War games on my Xbox than a PS5 is just kinda embarrassing. The fact they want to charge people to play laggy versions of those old games when we know damn well the hardware can handle it only makes it worse. So the new subscription thing is a three tiered offering.
First tier is bog standard monthly free games, next one is monthly free games and PS Now and the top tier is monthly free games plus streaming some PS3 games, PS Now and some downloadable ps1, ps2 and PSP games along with free trials of some new games.
Gamepass it ain't.
