I was originally thinking of having the term heavy hitter apply to Nier's high secondary market value in the from the perspective of your wallet, which would be at odds with it's initial low sales. For it's a game that would give it a real financial beating.

Then, they defended soyny for their shitty free online infrastructure that still had a premium component anyway, because they had exclusives. Then they defended the pay to play model, because they had exclusives (and you could share hand-me-down games with friends!). Then they defended their shrinking list of exclusives, because they still had some. Then they defended a waste of hardware that is the ps5, because they used to have exclusives. Now they're defending them because... ???

You could be talking about any of the major 3 console manufacturers. Hell you could be talking about graphics card manufacturers too since there's not much separating those either.

All 3 of them now have mobile divisions, Microsoft expanded mobile bullshit all over china. Sat on developers or let things just atrophy. Nintendo/Gamefreak has the $60 main pokemon games be shadows of their former selves because the mobile versions are more lucrative. Hell Nintendo still doesn't have a successor to Rare and it's been decades at this point and every Nintendo console has suffered dry spells. Playstation having PC ports of last gen titles in an attempt to grow their IPs is something that's too early to see if there's any real payoff, but if it backfires horribly, they'll retract it just like Microsoft did with renegging on Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 being multiplatform. Because they make a ton of money off digital subscriptions and their own storefront and risking that would be suicide.

As a centrist, it is my vague non-denominational deity-given duty to lay things out in an equal and fair manner on all sides.

I mean the new rumored Playstation Plus Tiers were something of a controversy today, but it never really gained that much traction it seems due to the fact that it's already another instance of a less than optimal digital software plan made by another large company. The market already seems numb against these and has passively accepted them as part of the norm now.

Logically lets think of this, if sony has no games as often claimed since the PS3, then by orders of sheer magnitude I would have more criticism of nintendo since by process of elimination they would be the ones who have games and therefore more substance to critique. As I've said I currently have more switch games than I have games on the playstation 5 by a large margin.
