So apprantly the new sony exclusive forspoken only runs at 720p 30fps (dipping into 20s) on the PS5. Looking at the minimum requirements for the PC version, to run the game at 720p 30fps will require a GTX 1060 6gb or RX 5550 XT 8gb card and 16gb of ram.
No idea where you hear that but it's bullshit, unless they downgraded the game within the month between it and the game coming out. But off the demo, the game does go below 1080p if you want to play at 60fps (which does drop to the 40s in some parts) or if you play with ray tracing, however they are still both far above 720p.

Performance mode is typically around 900p internally, RT mode is usually around 1000p or so, and quality mode clocks in at about 1296p in most shots I tested.

In the performance mode Forspoken is frequently dropping frames during traversal, and is very often sub-60fps during battles, with readings around 40fps at worst. The quality mode and ray tracing mode are more consistent, though they target 30fps. Traversal is a solid 30fps in those modes, and battles are mostly 30 though they do drop significantly at times, with both modes hitting similar framerates in intense moments.

Note not saying it good by any means, but not to that level of bad as you heard.

I'm seeing some PS players petitioning that Sony removes multiplayer trophies from the Platinum trophy requirement.

I actually agree with that. I believe Steam separates single player completion from multiplayer completion. It doesn't help that Sony is trigger-happy with axing their first-party servers for several of their IPs. Killzone, Resistance, R&C, Singstar, SOCOM, etc.
Warhawk

Ok, that was about 99% "Hey look we can use the PS3 for the game servers." My friends who worked there at the time says they were a nightmare to manage as game servers since they ran the same code as the game and they didn't build in any remote functionality so someone had to go stand in front of the rack when one crashed.

I don't really care for achievements that much anyway as I've always seen them as an artificial way of padding out an experience without offering anything in-game as an award but multiplayer achievements should at least be counted separately from the single player ones if they have to be included.

Unless they just add an achievement that requires you to reach rank #1 in the world because that's just absolutely ridiculous.

There is apparently a new method meant to deter the still ongoing PS5 scalping in Japan, by putting a big sticker on the box and cut it after purchase. Although I have no idea how this is going to remotely stop online resales.
Am I retarded, or would that serve absolutely no purpose and do absolutely nothing to deter people from scalping/buying a scalped system?
The fact Xenoblade X runs on the Wii U, on a single disc (I know you can download files for faster loading, but that is just because of disc read speeds), not even a Bluray disc, at a constant and solid 30fps at 720p is incredible. I really believe they are the reason BotW even exists.
Wii U discs were 25GB like Blu-ray, they just didn’t have a dual-layer version.

As someone who has gotten tons of plats, I can tell you that online trophies are the worst thing when trying 100% a game. Especially if its PVP. But Im not sure if Sony would actually listen to player voices. Its the main reason why I only plat single player games now. Sekiro, Yakuza 0 and Resident Evil 2 were some of my latest plats.

I usually do it to get my moneys worth. Or if I really love a game and cant stop playing it (Yakuza 0)

This is usually fine honestly, if you're already enjoying a game then you might as well get as much as you can out of it.

People who do achievements solely for the imaginary gamer score are where the problem is.

If I'm not mistaken, the Elder Scrolls Online has a trophy for being ranked 1 in its PvP system.

There was also one of the Fight Night games, where there were trophies for having the Champion Belt. Problem is, there was a conspiracy to charge people to get the belt. I'm not sure how the system worked as I didn't play, but am still a bit of a trophy hunter and remember hearing people talk about it. But pretty much if someone gets high enough you can challenge the Champion, if the Champion fails to defend the title within so many days, the belt is automatically dropped. However, this group would intentionally drop the belt to each other and tell people they'll drop it to them, for real life money. Shit's ridiculous.

There's also impossible platinums due to the developers being stupid (and community abusing shit). Like in Lost Planet 2, there's a trophy to get all the Nom de Guerre's, one of the Noms requiring you to get the #1 spot on a training mission. The problem being, the rankings never reset, and cheats/glitches were found to get impossible times, and last I checked, tying doesn't grant it either. There was a huge thread on the Capcom Unity forum about it, where even one of their community mods drew up a plan and presented it, but was ignored.

The worst thing Sony did in their games is Warhawk. Even with a dedicated boosting team, requires 1000+ hours to do everything it requires.

I remember when some games had trophies for getting in a match with a developer. Unreal Tournament 3 had one. I don't think this game had dedicated servers on console. Correction: UT3 did not have any trophies requiring that.

Weren't those achievements along the lines of 'play with a dev, or somebody else with the trophy'? Red Dead Redemption and GTA4 had ones those.
Looks like I mixed RDR up with Unreal Tournament 3. There doesn't seem to be any documentation about such a trophy being in UT3.

That's unbelievable. It must be a seriously bloated piece of shit to only run at 720p30 on a PS5. Those PC recommended requirements are outrageous, too:

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  • MINIMUM:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows® 10 64-bit (After November 2019 Update) or Windows® 11 64-bit
    • Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 1600 (3.7GHz or better) / Intel® Core™ i7-3770 (3.7GHz or better)
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 5500 XT 8GB / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 6 GB VRAM
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 150 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: 720p 30fps
  • RECOMMENDED:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows® 10 64-bit (After November 2019 Update) or Windows® 11 64-bit
    • Processor: AMD Ryzen™5 3600 (3.7 GHz or better) / Intel® Core™ i7-8700K (3.7GHz or better)
    • Memory: 24 GB RAM
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 6700 XT 12GB / NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 3070 8 GB VRAM
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 150 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: 1440p 30fps, SSD 150GB

I think that's the first time I've ever seen over 16gb RAM in a game's recommended requirements. And the recommended requirements still target 30fps, lol, lmao even. Do you need a NASA supercomputer to pull off 4k60? All of this power for their stupid Amerimutt ESG score booster game that'll be forgotten before spring.
Oh yeah, this game is going to be an unoptimized mess on PC. That just means it will crash and burn even harder than it already was.

Everything about Forspoken's dialogue feels like they took the most negative stereotypes about the dialogue in the MCU and just crushed them together in a horrid amalgamation.

The first proper next gen title ladies and gentlemen. 80 Eur for this.
*slow clap*

What sorta amuses me is that Forspoken has 2 years of console exclusivity vs 6 months of platform exclusivity for Final Fantasy 16

Speaking of Final Fantasy 16, it finally took a month & half since the start of pre-orders in Japan to finally appear in the COMG chart and it's competing against the visual novel after-story (Aokana) and a Switch port of a PSVita Digimon game for the moment, with a score as low as 5. This is the lowest number ever reached for a mainline FF game there.

The little I've seen of Forspoken and I have to wonder what ever compelled Squenix to completely kill the appeal this game could have had to and international audience by making the protagonist an obnoxious, bad mouthed, fugly urban amerimutt. The dialog and personality of the protagonist is atrocious.

I don't care how advanced the graphics, combat and animations are in this game if the protagonist I'm asked to play as is so unlikable, I'm not going to play it. This is Abby all over again.

I think that the fact that the story of this game is an "Isekai" which is such a Japanese trope and yet this game doesn't use a Japanese character archetype is baffling.

This game is going to severely underperform, I cannot imagine this game meeting the sales target Squenix has for it.

"Trapped in another world" stories far predate "isekai", so it doesn't bother me that this isn't particularly Japanese in its cultural aesthetic. The real issue is that the main character is so terrible, that it drags the whole story down.
