While SM3 is incredibly flawed, I would gladly watch it over anything that came after. (((Garfield))) and the manlet with the nigger mj are trash.
Yeah, it's easily the weakest link in the trilogy, but what came after is unwatchable trash.

I ended up going full autist and making my own "extended cut" of SM3 a few years ago. It doesn't fix a whole lot, but it adds some nice bits and wraps up the movie in a way that feels like a more fitting way to end a series like that.

Speaking of which:

Look at this mess. (I know it's technically an Activision product, but I believe Sony still owned the rights to Spider-Man.)
I actually had this as a kid and loved it. I still like the game even if it's not quite as good as SM2. I really miss the Treyarch-Activision days, those were the best Spider-Man games. After it went to Beenox it just felt disappointing, and now Insomniac, despite having decent gameplay, can't write for shit. Meanwhile Treyarch went from making interesting games to just being another Call of Duty developer.

Sony owns the Spider Man film rights, but nothing else. The reason that Sony was able to make the recent games is because they made a deal with Disney to allow the character in the Marvel movies.

Licensing for comic book stuff is a fucking mess
Sony doesn't really own the film rights. They have an exclusive license to make movies for Spider-Man and some related characters in their deal with Disney/Marvel, with Disney retaining some rights to make team-up movies. They used to have TV rights too, but those reverted back to Disney with the Spectacular cartoon being replaced with Ultimate. The video game rights are entirely unrelated to the movie rights; that's a separate deal with Disney to make Spider-Man games.

Making a GoW show and not adapting the original games just shows how little sony cares about their older games, even ones in the fucking same franchises they are still making games for.
I'm playing through inFamous 1 on RPCS3, and it's insane how much care was put into this game. Comparing this to their newer stuff, even comparing Uncharted 1-3 to Uncharted 4, you can see just how little they care about good writing now.

It’s not even a cramped hands thing, it’s more like what Epoch said where the stick doesn’t match your thumb’s resting position, so it feels unnatural. Camera control is better since you’re usually making slight movements, and only when you need to, so you can just push your thumb in a direction for a moment and then let go to reset back to default grip. In something like a platformer, you’re always - and I mean always - moving around, with your thumb always on the stick, usually in full tilt in constantly changing directions.

I rarely see anyone bring this up so I know I’m in the minority, but it’s an opinion I’ve had since the day I first used these controllers.
The PS stick placement never bothered me. But come to think of it, having the D-pad in the lower portion is more awkward to me than the stick being there; probably because pressing right needs more of a commitment than tilting the stick right by pushing it from its left side. You can direct the stick in any direction from just having your thumb on the edge, they're pretty grippy.

They didn't do Venom justice that well, but the concept stuff that didn't make it into the film seem like they were closer to the mark than the final product. Especially Parker's concept Black Suit being more true to the comic instead of just being a palette swap.

I wouldn't even know what to expect from a tv series... lot of walking and talking? some punching? because the real bombastic shit that makes up part of nu-GoW is outside a TV budget (unless you want to have it look really cheap).

The shine really starts coming out when your natural human oils start greasing up the buttons over time.

As I have said, *frequently*, it's impossible to just hit ignore and ignore him when half the people in the fucking thread are arguing with hi

And I don;t want him banned for his dumbass opinions. I want him banned because he posts blatantly false information and continually argues with people even when he has been proved wrong. He's a fucking troll and he needs to fuck off.
just scroll past it ffs, literally takes a second.

32 GB RAM requirement baby

holy moly you weren't kidding

What kind of trash game looks at 16gb of RAM and goes "Nope, that's just not gonna cut it"?

He's got a point, it sucks to open up the thread and most of the newest replies are people arguing with him, or fruitlessly trying to explain that PC gaming isn't in the exact same place it was 18 years ago. I'd think that'd be grounds for a threadban, but everyone should just block him anyway.

probably because 4k (real one, not playstation "4k"), which is the new "ultra". that's why it's always hilarious when people want to run MAX EVERYTHING on 1080p/1440p without understanding why it's retarded and/or runs like shit.

I hate using a Playstation-style controller for 3D games. Using a modern Nintendo/Xbox controller’s d-pad as the primary form of movement is tolerable if a bit uncomfortable, but stretching your thumb across the controller to constantly pivot around a stick is borderline unplayable. Does anyone else feel this way?
you are aware you have to hold a dualshock differently, right? same way you don't claw a microsoft pad.
although sony caving to retarded devs and swapping buttons/shoulders with the ds4 for "compatibility" didn't help.

Yeah, but even at that, I'm not sure how 16gb of RAM isn't enough. I'd guess 4K would need a lot of VRAM and a very powerful GPU, and you still wouldn't need that much system RAM because it's not like you're multitasking across ten different applications. They must have a hell of a lot of obnoxiously high-res textures with no fuckin' compression whatsoever to need that much memory.

Now that I have a pretty high end computer, running everything maxed out is bullshit. It is remarkable how good modern games look on very low settings. Fuck, man, sometimes I even play them at low settings because all of the new fancy features to smooth out the image just makes everything look blurry. Maxing out your settings is clown town now

they might be caching more to make up for people not having a SSD, which I was somewhat afraid of since devs are lazy as fuck. no need to optimize further if it's "good enough" on a SSD with direct memory access.
so to not get raked over the coals for several minute long loadscreens on rust spinners with constant stuttering for streaming, this might be their solution.

It's never a good sign when even fucking adobe after effects requires less ram to not run like shit

Wait, what? What do you mean?
you hold an xbox controller like making a finger gun, with the important functions like shooting etc on the triggers, so that's where your index finger is resting most of the time. this moves the thumbs forward, which makes the location of the stick on the left side more comfortable (doesn't explain the right side, that's why asymmetric never made much sense). the way you're holding a xbox pad is also a reason why people really like back-pedals on them.

a dualshock (traditionally) is more like grabbing a nice pair of tiddies from behind, with the important functions on the bumpers, not triggers, and the pad resting on your palms. this way the thumbs are lower and further apart, so you can move your thumbs more freely depending on the size of your hand/length of your fingers - index on bumper, middle finger on trigger, hence "claw" (both sticks is how most sony movie games are controlled anyway). you could even go one step further and shift everything so the index fingers are resting on the d-pad/buttons.

however, sony in their infinite wisdom adopted the xbox input scheme with the ps4, putting the important functions on triggers. this means you're now supposed to hold a dualshock like an xbox pad, even if the ergonomics are different, and that's why holding the controller/using the sticks this way feels shit and like there's not enough space. on ps4 they were at least smart enough to include an "accessibility" option to swap it back to the classic layout, dunno if the ps5 supports it. of course doesn't change the screen prompts (unless a developer includes the option himself, but given how much consoles are known for their customization, you can prolly guess how many do).

plus haptic feedback might be nice and all, but I doubt it will beat shoulder buttons for simple input speed and accessibility - with the xbox input scheme you have to move your index finger up if you want to use the shoulders (never seen anyone use the xbox triggers with his middle finger, since it feels off and is less comfortable, and given the asymmetry it makes trying to claw an xbox pad look even more spastic), while you always have a finger on both when clawing a dualshock. and it allows you to still use your d-pad with your index finger if you need it, while on xbox again you have to move your thumb and can only ever use one at the same time.

it makes a bit more sense when you look at the original versions and where they come from. the dualshock(2) doesn't have triggers, while the xbox duke controller is designed like a toy (I assume a faggy microsoft designer thought "hurr triggers, just like a gun!", but at least it makes sense design-wise since most people instinctively will pull the trigger with their index finger EDIT: thinking about it they probably stole the idea from the dreamcast). with the dualshock 3 sony adopted the triggers, but treated them mostly like extra buttons just like before (another indicator is that shoulder buttons are still L1/R1, it doesn't make much sense to not start with your main inputs). ds4 is when they started to get faggy like ms.

TLDR: they were designed with different ergonomics in mind, till sony fucked up.

They were going to do the classic black suit, but the reason they ended up going with the version that's more of a palette swap with the webs was they thought the classic version didn't show up well enough in the darker scenes on film.

I'm kind of surprised you have this problem. I usually use an Xbox Elite controller when I'm playing games, but I did dig out my old DS4 controller to play some PS3 games in the emulator, and I was able to adjust just fine. The worst problem I had was I have to keep it plugged in because the battery doesn't hold a charge.

Type-Moon's visual novel, Mahou Tsukai no Yoru (The Witch on the Holy Night), published by Aniplex/Sony Music found once again better success on the Nintendo platform than Sony's.

PS5 hardware sales in Japan are still struggling against the Playstation Vita, with game sales virtually non-existent due of the problem of "actual owners" vs "scalpers". I guess the definitive test will be to see how Final Fantasy 16 fare there as a (timed) PS5 exclusive. The likelihood of the PS5 recovering in Japan is pretty slim, but it's not zero yet.

As a side note, electronic stores in Tokyo (such as Bic Camera Yurakucho as seen in pics below) have been re-stocking PS5 and Switch hardware units for these upcoming Christmas/New Year weeks
