It also didn't help that the other games weren't worthy options (FIFA, NBA 2K, F1) for the category either, so I don't think Sony even needed to pay for that award.

If Forza Horizon 5 released this year, or GT7 released last year, then it would have been an embarrassment for GT7 to lose the award to FH5.

I might consider that if God of War didn't win literally every award it was nominated for (and it was nominated a lot).
 
Looks like the FTC really are suing over Acti-Blitz. On the one hand the FTC are a joke, on the other Microsoft don't have a great track record against the feds. All in all, another waste of taxpayer money.

It does make me wonder what the giant fans of CoD and WoW think about the deal. Probably something like "Please, literally anyone but Acti-Blitz management in charge of these games. We'll even take EA".

Sony already paid for the award long ago, why do you think they hire ex game journos to write for Ragnarok? We all know they aren't hiring them because they're good writers.
Game journos give sony good reviews and awards, sony gives game journos jobs, they dont hand over a sack of cash and say "I want these awards thanks" but there's a nod and a wink and "maybe you'll get a job at sony next"
 
In spite of having the trailers published on the official Playstation's youtube channel (alongside of D3 Publisher's), Samurai Maiden ended up selling more on Switch while the PS4 version has a larger retail stock left in japanese stores (as shown by the green bar). The PS5 version didn't even chart in this latest weekly Top 30 of 11/28 - 12/4.

I've bought the digital deluxe edition on the japanese eshop last week and I've been liking it so far. Not something I'd recommend full-price unless you like an old-school & janky type game sprinkled with yuri and featuring Takaya Kuroda (in the role of Oda Nobunaga), aka the VA of Kiryu Kazuma in Ryu ga Gotoku. I'd objectively rank it much higher than Senran Kagura though for the actual level design (with platform-focused levels) and the non-trivial difficulty even on Normal mode with a maxed out weapon. Chapter 17 took me several tries because someone in my team who could bring emergency health in tight situations was missing, and genderbent Uesugi Kenshin loves to bait the player into dodging like a DaS boss.

It's nothing mind-blowing but I'd rather have more of those niche "experimental" games coming out rather than your average high-budget shit. They're what keeps me into still liking videogames.

I couldn't care less about Call of Duty itself but it's sorta fun to watch this shitshow unfolding itself

I liked Until Dawn, SuperMassive games kind of sucks now. After they made Until Dawn they started on that Dark Pictures Anthology game series. Its basically just horror movies as video games. Theres 4 of them right now, but the only one worth playing is House of Ashes. The others arent really worth playing. Man of Medan and Little Hope are trash. The most recent one being The Devil In Me and that was "meh" at best. If they can make something like Until Dawn again that would be great. And I dont mean The Quarry.

I got Until Dawn a few years back as a Christmas present from my wife since it was only $20. I really didn't give the game any thought when the trailers were new since I thought it was just choice based slasher game. Which couldn't be further from the truth. I was consumed with that game for about a week and replayed the fuck out of it to see the different decision making outcomes.

Their Dark Pictures Anthology is fucking ass. Four hour games is a complete no no. I got Man of Medan thinking we'll get something on par with UD and it was the complete polar opposite. When you discover what's actually going on in that, which is there's no ghosts and it's a nerve agent (I'm spoiling it so you don't waste your money) it completely ruins any replay value when it removes any sort of threat.

I don't know they're deal but they've fumbled for years ever since they started these vignette spinoffs.

I felt this was funny and in the vein of Soyny news, renowned Sony shill and retard Amazing Lucas had a pretty interesting meltdown after the game awards and Snoy failing to secure the win of GOTY.

Lucas is a bit of a weird person who seems to be a conservative who is American first but hates Microsoft an American company and SIMPs for PlayStation a Japanese company. He's probably the most insane of all Soyny shills on the Internet.
