Was that actually his collection? I assumed it was just some generic pic he grabbed off google.
I don't have a clue, he could have just composited a bunch of discs onto a blank image for all I know, though reverse image searching turned up nothing. His refusal to even just hold up a game in front of his screen like the rest of us was weird

Eh, I won't judge. I refuse to do that because I'm really shy. I'm not going around shitting threads up and bragging about my collection, though.

I get it, microsoft dunking on the sony lolcow and letting you rent games for cheap is funny and "based", however it misses the bigger picture. sony being retarded is just funny. microsoft being retarded is outright cancer, you do NOT want microsoft to lead the industry unchecked. the last time was during the 360 era, and look what that got us.
Sony had to be dragged kicking and screaming into backwards compatibility on PS4 and even then it was only a few limited games that they charged for. In Sony's perfect world every new generation you'd have to pay them to play games you already own. Sony is not funny bad when they're the industry leader, they're just as bad as Microsoft.

It's good shitposting though. I was pretty pleased with my picture of Tales of Phantasia with a post it note saying "Arise" over Phantasia.

Only tangentially related, but Square Enix's President just stated they're going to focus on making "hit titles that speak to the global market" which sounds like a lot of "we're censoring for the west" to me. Interesting considering all their exclusivity agreements with PlayStation, who censor Japanese games themselves.

what timelime are you from where sony has a stranglehold on pc desktop operating systems for 30+ years leading to all kinds of shit, not included windows 11 getting shoved down your throat eventually? and that's just the mustard space, let's better not talk about their shitty practices they championed during the 360 era. ffs just look at how xinput is literally holding back the industry in general.
also completely ignoring the fuck you money MS has from borderline abusive and literal illegal practices which allows them to shit up everything constantly and still get away with it?
"just as bad" is so incredibly naive and shortsighted it would make fucking reddit look like savants in comparison.

not to mention your example being BC, which a) already was done via psnow - "inb4 it's crap"; yes, which leads to: b) no one gives a shit about. it's a nice feature which the majority of normies doesn't even know what it means. how many zoomers do you think are running around "fuck me, I really want to play resistance 1 on my ps4 RIGHT FUCKING NOW"? exactly.

MS treating CoD like Minecraft makes too much sense business wise. They are paying what $80 billion for Activation, For now CoD is bigger on PlayStation than any other platform, and having CoD skip PlayStation won't be helping them get that money back.

Makes little sense to have GaaS games on one platform, mean even Sony is making future Bungie games multiplat for that reason. I expect all GaaS games or any games like CoD to be on Playstation for the foreseeable future.

Do wonder what will happen to ips like Spyro and Crash, games that are far more popular on PlayStation but don't do near CoD numbers nor make any notable money from mirco-transactions.

The new ps+ has made the service lose 2 million subscribers. It really hurts it that the tier where you actually get a library of games costs around €140 a year.

You can get 3 years of Gamepass for that and Gamepass gets new games day 1 most months. MS have their own problems however. It has come out that every new xbox sold is costing them $200. They've always sold consoles at a loss but I think this is the biggest hit per unit they've taken.

Sony fans touched so much grass that it's losing the company money.

Yes really.

Would've added article text like usual, but the site's not having any of it today.
However I will post the quote here because it's hilariously pathetic:
Asked about the decline in an earnings call on Tuesday (transcribed by VGC), Sony’s CFO Hiroki Totoki blamed declining third-party game and PlayStation 4 sales and ‘more people going outdoors’.

The exec said he expects subscriber numbers to recover during the company’s next quarter, partly due to the impact of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and God of War Ragnarök.

“There have been a declining number of members of PlayStation Plus,” he said. “However, in the second quarter we renewed our services and there hasn’t been a great momentum as a whole. Also, we didn’t make aggressive promotions during the second quarter.

“Therefore, in the future we are going to have more penetration on PS5 and we are going to have very good titles. In addition, we are able to make better promotions and we think we are able to recover.”

He added in a reply to another investor about the PS Plus figures: “More people are now going outdoors, and we have yet to get out of the negative cycles. PS4 and third-party software sales have also been rather sluggish, and sales of catalogue titles have also been declining.

“Against that, PS5 engagement is quite high, so in Q3 we expect some recovery. We have strong titles from first-party, and we have some seasonal effects. So, in Q3 we can see some recovery from the downturn trend – that’s our expectation.”

I want CoD to become Xbox console exclusive not only to watch Sony grovel but also get the normalfags to leave Playstation.

The wojak on the bottom is almost me, since I have/played at least half of those titles. If anything, I still wish we had the Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank crossover game come to life.

Maybe it's actually because it sucks?

Seriously, one of the big features they were touting for this thing was FINALLY adding legacy games to the catalogue. Well, fast forward a few months later and the actual offerings for it have been absolutely pitiful, with some months going by without them adding any AT ALL. Anyone who isn't completely sucking the Sony cock can clearly see the highest tier (believe it's called Premium) is basically an outright scam.

Add to that a monthly selection of free games that more often than not range from merely acceptable to outright shovelware and it's no wonder they're losing subs. (Though to be fair it still hasn't become quite as bad as Xbox's Games with Gold offerings... yet.)

I understand wanting to ditch the name "PS Now" since it was associated mostly with streaming, but calling all their services different tiers of "PS Plus" is dumb and annoying. It also seems pointless to have both "Extra" and "Premium" tiers; the service blatantly made to compete with Game Pass should not be so flagrantly inferior to it.
