From what I understand, Sonic Chronicles' music was so bad because Bioware wasn't able to use the intended music right before release so they slapped on shitty midi files instead.

The lady behind Sonic Passion right? I remember her and that site all too well. She had that one character from Paper Mario TTYD as her avatar if I remember correctly.

People laugh at this era of Sonic, but I would rather play/watch a dozen dark edgefests like this than one more MY FRIENDS GIVE ME STRENGTH story.

NGL, as a kid I was pretty engrossed by SA2’s story and Gerald’s monologue, as well as the implication that he died by firing squad creeped me out.

I realize now that sort of thing seems ridiculously out of place in a Sonic game, but somehow it worked on me. Good luck getting something like this into a kid’s game again.

Sonic the Fighters is a laughingstock even now, so we probably won't see a beat 'em up starring the blue blur, ngl.

I am curious as to why you're in love with the idea. The Robot Storm segments of Heroes were pretty bad.

it's a shame that Mario and Megaman had a lot, and waaay better RPG's than Sonic.

That's Grandia. Funny enough, he later got his own emo counterpart in Ryudo.

Trivia: If you played the Secret of Mana remake, they added cutscenes that play when you stop at an inn. I suspect those were ripped straight from Grandia. That was one of the main gimmicks: The dialog changes as you progress, and there's some nice comedy to be found there.

It does! Depending on when you talk to them in the story they'll react to recent events.

Something like that. I think it was more it had to be replaced at the last minute and it was rushed.

It just fits Knuckles really well and it would be better than Knuckles’ Chaotix. Just imagine a game like Devil May Cry or Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, but you’re Knuckles. Sounds like it would be hard to fuck up.

There was that one wii game which had a decent PVP multiplayer, the black knight one I believe. For a party game it's fun, but frustrating due to the controls and an isometric camera.

According to her it was all an act for e-fame, which is autistic enough to be believable, especially when considering what she's up to now.

My favorite fan theory about Shadow's creation: It's implied in SA2 and confirmed in Shadow the Hedgehog that Gerald visited Angel Island and was aware of the echidna tribes. That means he probably saw this mural:

Upon recognizing his own likeness, he may have modeled Shadow after the depiction of Super Sonic here. Not only does it explain why he went from a giant plesiosaur to a mutant hedgehog, it explains why Shadow's spines are always super-shaped. Also this quote from the FinalHazard (paraphrased):

Holy fuck I just realized all these years later that the reason the fucking aliens in shadow the hedgehog were called the "black arms" was probably because of this fucking mural having a detatched black arm with what looks like a monster eye on it. As sloppy and goofy as that fucking game was they really did try wrapping up the adventure timeline of games with it so I wouldnt put it past them to base an entire fucking alien wizard bad guy faction on some shit like this. Interpreting this mural as gerald giving creation to shadow opens up a lot of explanations with a lot of the fucking weird plot shit in shadow the hedgehog. Even without the alien interlopers and just the SA2 interpretation, those weird little missiles behind the ""gerald"" could be representative of his death via firing squad.
