I don't know why listed "S1 Gen" and didn't put Knuckles Chaotix in it's role, not sure why you didn't include Forces as well then, lol.
SA1 lasted as long as it needed too, every gameplay style besides Big is fun, and the fact you can actually choose instead of being forced into 3 rotating gameplay styles 2 of wich are inferior to how they were in SA1, and i liked how the town of Station Square gave some life to the game, it isn't unlike other collect-athons where it's just an empty building i still think it didn't aged well but it's still a very fun game and arguably both the best implementation of Sonic in 3D that's also the closest to the Classics.S&K is the easiest to just pick up and play. I haven't touched it in over a decade, and I could probably still beat it blindfolded. Special stages and all. It's cotton candy.
Sonic 1 is more demanding, and Sonic 2 takes an eternity to complete. From a technical standpoint, they're superior. But there's a leisurely 'pace' to 3 which is seductive.
I liked SA1 when it came out. But it hasn't aged well for the reasons I mentioned. Too lengthy. (Especially the fetch quest segments.) Too many cheap deaths. There's a sense of scale to Angel island which the primitive Unity-style engine can't match. It doesn't compare to the timeless sprite work and music of the originals.
yeah, but with 3D Blast i genuinly found enjoyment in the backtracking even if losing those flickies or trying to get enough rings for special stages got frustrating, i still enjoyed it.I guess the young bulls don't appreciate the game of kings: pinball.
Also yeah, Sonic CD is a complete trash fire. But it is a well-oiled trash fire. Kinda like 3D Blast. Great fun!
thx for your wrong opinions, the concept of the Metal Race was so cool, and metal actually attacked you, and ithe Japanese soundtrack is just so good, maybe it's just that you aren't used to that 90's sample-heavy house music.Neither live up to the hype, imo.
And if someone can point me to a good track from Sonic CD, I'll be happy. I mean, I've listened to both albums (US and JP) and they're both hideous. Maybe Wacky Workbench?
But still. Give me Azure Lake or Endless Mine any day of the week.
Lol, no. He did a flaming 'spin dash' which could damage you, if he collided, but the real threat was the spikes, like always.and metal actually attacked you
sounds interesting considering how much fans have been asking for sonic breath of the wild, i hope it's done well, and the spincycle thing sounds fun tbh, although im not a fan of modern open world games with a shit load of missions and shit to do,We might have an open world game on our hands lads
Zippo's leak did mention something about lore and upgrades, but never open-worldsounds interesting considering how much fans have been asking for sonic breath of the wild, i hope it's done well, and the spincycle thing sounds fun tbh, although im not a fan of modern open world games with a shit load of missions and shit to do,
i also have my theory of who the mandatory new character would be
so, first of all, remember that other leak from a time ago that said the plot would revolve arround an ancient hedgehog civilization? something about the teaser tells me it's not that far off, considering how the splashscreens look like stone slabs of an ancient civilization, it seems SEGA is going back to heir storytelling/lore roots going again for a more naturalistic story and less sci-fi, remember how Sonic Forces got teased? with the Infinite icon clearly hinting at Infinite? maybe the new "Zap" icon isn't the name of the game but the name of the new character, wich if the other leak is true, will be named Zap the Hedgehog, and due to how the name sounds, he'd probably control electricity, as we haven't seen a sonic charcater that could do that before, and the character would be closely related to the ancient tribe, wich could be related to the echidnas, wich means the Master Emerald will be finally important again, but all of this is just wishfull thinking, a theory, a GAY THEORY
TLDR: it's Sonichu
It's still interesting as a concept nonetheless, and besides, it's Sonic's metallic clone, of course he would be similar, and the stage requiring speed is a fight that reflects what the franchise is about, essentially Sonic fighting Sonic, wich they attempted to replicate in SA2 with Shadow but it's nowhere as iconic because uncomprehensible heavy metal isn't as much of a banger as HUEHUEHUEHUELol, no. He did a flaming 'spin dash' which could damage you, if he collided, but the real threat was the spikes, like always.
true, but then again he only mentioned there was no boost.Zippo's leak did mention something about lore, but never open-world
It's a cutscene battle, which is actually something Sonic (as a franchise) doesn't do too well. It should've felt closer to 2-player mode, or even Tails' levels in SA1.they attempted to replicate in SA2 with Shadow but it's nowhere as iconic
Packs of hedgehogs guarding the Shadow Estate and griping to themselves.shadow the hedgehog should've taken over the franchise, and gone in the same direction that saints row did
idk if you think what im thinking of but im reffering to the battle in the ARK.It's a cutscene battle, which is actually something Sonic (as a franchise) doesn't do very well. It should've felt closer to 2-player mode, or even Tails' levels in SA1.
That said, people would have felt disappointed if you didn't race Shadow. A missed opportunity, but nothing serious.
I've played Chaotix and you're right. It's just giant bland levels filled with nothing. One of the most boring games I've played in my entire life.I think the only time I played Chaotix was on a demo booth in a Blockbuster long time ago and it was bland and boring to me plus getting a 32x was out of the question for me since I was a poor kid stuck with an SNES. CD was much better but like it was said before it was a failed experiment that had a great soundtrack, also it was too easy compared to the Genesis games.
It's bad in the same way Mario is Missing! is bad. It takes familiar assets from Sonic games and puts them in a foreign context. Pleasing nobody and blue-balling gamers who just want a new Sonic.I've played Chaotix and you're right. It's just giant bland levels filled with nothing. One of the most boring games I've played in my entire life.
Hell there was even one for the the Genesis call Sonic Classic which was just Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Mean Bean Machines on the same cartridge.Another Sonic compilation coming out called Sonic Origins.
How many Sonic compilations have released since the original Sonic trilogy? Sonic Jam, Sonic Gems Collection, Sonic Mega Collection, Sonic Classic Collection, Sonic (Ultimate) Genesis Collection?
This one.Hell there was even one for the the Genesis call Sonic Classic which was just Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Mean Bean Machines on the same cartridge.
At least Nintendo actually makes new Mario games that are fun and usually try different things. Sega makes you buy the same great old games and an increasing number of bad new games again and again.Another Sonic compilation coming out called Sonic Origins.

i think SEGA did try to make a 3D Sonic game during that era but coudn't because it was in development hell under a strict deadline, Yuji Naka threatened to leave SEGA and one of the workers almost died, so STI they cancelled it, and SoJ turned the Sonic RPG they were working on into Sonic Adventure (in fact, Sonic Jam's Sonic world is a prototype of what would become Sonic Adventure)Sega's incompetence is legendary and the fact that there were no mainline Sonic games through this period says a lot. Cash was sitting there on the table and Sega was like, "nah."
I don't know why the Chaotix are still around, tbh. They're worthless mascots. They even tried crowbarring them into the comic book, but their spinoff got cancelled anyways.
Mean Bean Fuckin' Machine. So many beans. So many ports.Hell there was even one for the the Genesis call Sonic Classic which was just Sonic 1, Sonic 2 and Mean Bean Machines on the same cartridge.
Naka couldn't see past his own ego. Plus Sega kept scrapping the game to compete with Mario 64.Yuji Naka threatened to leave SEGA
yeah.... Mario Odyssey was pretty mediocre if you compared it to Super Mario 64, to damn easy, and New Super Mario Bros. exist, so does the Mario vs Donkey Kong "Mini Toys" games, and the new Paper Marios, and the Mario Partys from the Wii U Era and the fact they made limited time rerealeased Emulators for 60$At least Nintendo actually makes new Mario games that are fun and usually try different things. SONIC FANS WILL DEFEND THIS.
lol I appreciate your effort. You're a nice guy.yeah, Mario Odyssey was pretty mediocre if you compared it to Super Mairo 64, to damn easy, and New Super Mario Bros. exist, so does the Mario vs Donkey Kong "Mini Toys" games, and the new Paper Marios, and the Mario Partys from the Wii U Era and the fact they made limited time rerealeased Emulators for 60$
all of that makes anything SEGA did more excusable in comparisson, and SEGA also tries to innovate, it's not like if Nintendo does this to, they rerealeased a collection of old Mario games for 60$ and Sonic also tries new things, but people will brush them off as gimmicks, even though Mario Sunshine, Galaxy and Odyssey are all gimmicky games aswell.
