Sonic CD can probably be fixed by playing as Tails, which I think you can do now in the latest version. Otherwise that huge vertical stage with shit tons of bouncy springs is where the game ends imo.

Sonic CD is a skill-check for players that only hold right on the D-pad. Maybe you need some more practice.

So how is everyone feeling on the Sonic X DC Crossover?
Tails X Cyborg resembling that one time he was roboticized in Lost World was a neat touch, otherwise I don't really care about comics.
Seems interesting, will "acquire" the comic run when it comes out. In other news, the DLC level in Shadow Generations has been revealed. It's a Sonic 3 movie level and features Keanu as Shadow.

That’s the most left field thing out there but I’m all for it. I guess that’s what that mysterious slot on the Japanese website is for.

Sonic CD never clicked with me, just not the type of gameplay I find fun, I enjoy braindead run to the end as fast as possible the most because I love arcade style stuff that's more focused on skill and replayatlibity than exploration

Haven't been paying attention, so hopefully someone can spoonfeed me. Is the sonic and shadow generations game sonic generations 2, or is it a remaster of sonic generations with bonus content?

Fuckin' hell, that was nice. The animated shorts for the past 6ish years have all been good (and very much appreciated), but you can tell that SEGA/Sonic Team/SIMAGE Animation are really proud of this.
Episode 1 left me wanting more but in a good way. I didn't walk away with that tinge of disappointment like, "Ahhh man, that's it?" It's also nice that we have dates for the remaining episodes so we're not left hanging.
I might be on the copium, but I wonder if this is sort of testing the grounds for a new Sonic anime, or at least something that's closer in style to an anime.

This is the kind of shit that made me fall in love with the Sonic franchise, y'know?

I haven't been following along with this franchise for a while, I saw this short today and holy shit, I'm impressed. I thought they got the guys from MAPPA (studio that did Jujutsu Kaisen and a bunch of other very well animated action anime), turns out they got an indie studio whose most recent portfolio includes the new TMNT show. Really well done, hope the studio goes far.

Trust SEGA to find as many ways possible to cheap out on the animation when it comes to Sonic. Similar to how they tapped OuiDo to make Boom after they'd produced a Alvin & Chipmunks series.

Looks like kino is back on the menu boys!

YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY!

I was just thinking, why were they allowed to use the Maria backstory? There isn't supposed to be love or crying in this franchise, certain basic human emotions are not good for sales.
IIRC it was only sonic that they made that shit that for. Everyone around him is fair game so you can have that weird brief subplot of the bootleg chaos alien literally who species that were reincarnated as the little funny shitnugget creatures you need to collect where you need to reunite the lovers and then they fuck off and die on the spot. Removal of the running gag of amy showing romantic feelings for sonic seems less a no romance thing more a "modern audience/girlboss attempt" thing. Saw a comment about t somewhere a few months ago from someone rambling about games and shit that she's just gone from an actual character that's the" funny/annoying but nice at the end of the day one" to just "sonics friend no. 4". Removing the goofy socially unacceptable weirdo aspects is kind of like removing tails' importance as anything other than the exposition machine or knuckles' matter of fact reasoning. wait, they already did that nevermind carry on.

EDIT: Unrelated but I saw sonic blindbox figures shaped like little eggs with the eggman logo on them. They're apparently for the netflix sonic show of questionable quality. I do not care about netflix sonic but I kinda want to maybe get one sometime to have a little weird egg thing of questionable purpose on my shelf/desk/whatever

I can't find any stock photos of the things, just in store photos taken by "influencers" and that angers me.

There was no toupee eggman on the box I saw when I saw the things in the store by the way. It was just generic purple shit with text about sonic and netflix on it.

Maybe the mandates are being slowly, quietly lifted? Just a theory of course, but SEGA's been back-backtracking on a lot of continuity and canon. We're back to having one world, Classic Sonic from Gens is back to being just younger Sonic, among other things. It's absolutely wishful thinking, but I wonder if the movies having their own take on the characters and universe has gotten SEGA to reconsider some of the guidelines put in place.

As long as they don't make Knuckles a dumbass anymore, I'm good.
