You remembered correctly. It really comes down to personal preference. If you're looking for a more "pure" Sonic experience, then yeah, I can see why 2 would be many people's favorite. However, 3&K I feel manages the perfect balance of exploration and high-speed platforming that CD tried to do, but kinda-sorta failed at.
I completely agree, well put. I want to like Sonic CD but it's worse than any of the trilogy, which is a waste of an incredible OST (2 of incredible PSTs, in fact) and great art. Can't forget that incredible opening video either.

CD is actually fine until that one vertical as fuck zone with springs. I was done.

Sonic 06 (non-modded) and Wacky Workbench (from Sonic CD) did nothing wrong, you're all just jealous

also jews did space colony ARK

Another wave of Sonic fans pestering SEGA on Twitter to replace Pollock over some tweets about Israel again. This time about him talking about collateral damage.

When will these celebrities learn, they should never talk about politics.

Ah damn, they get in trouble now if they don't say anything.

Fuck you Twitter

Good GOD, I forgot how much I hated the first Sonic game. I don't think I really got into Sonic as a character until Sonic 2 came out. Now that I think about it, I think the Genesis system I got had Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage 2 as a pack in.
It's a bit of an odd duck when you compare it to 2/3+K since the true balance of speed and platforming hadn't really been perfected yet. If anything, I preferred the Master System version.

The Master System version has some nice tunes that are just slappin. Labyrnith Zone being one of them.

In fact it's dissapointing that the 3DS version of Generations was just regular generations but more emphasis on the 2D platforming with different console levels (minus the Sonic Rush water level and Colors beginning stage level). The entire thing should have been a celebration of all the handheld games from the GameGear, to GBA, to DS. At least then we would have updated remixes of those songs.

I would've loved Sonic Generations to be a celebration of what came before and have been mostly Genesis, Game Gear and Dreamcast era remixes of levels with a modern twist, but having anything from Colors or anything from the modern era kinda killed a lot of enthusiasm from me for a lot of it. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a fantastic game, and I'm definitely looking forward to the Shadow add on / remaster (or whatever the fuck they're calling it). I just think a lot more could've been done with it.

On a side note, I don't know why Sega is hell bent on pushing Sonic in the 3D space. Give us a PROPER Sonic 5 with Sonic Mania's design. Hell, give us a second Generations. Frontiers isn't bad per say, I'm just getting kind of sick of the 3D games.

Hot take: I don't mind them not taking levels from the Game Gear games, it would've been neat to see sure and I know they've been playable through other means like SADX and game compilations but I feel like the games would've been too obscure for many people to truly appreciate. I think an encounter against Fang would've been neat but that's where I'd leave it at.
However, I find it really strange that they didn't take more levels from the Advance games. It feels like such a waste to have an entire zone and boss encounter that Sonic shouldn't even be fighting in the first place. After the classic era I'd just start pulling zones from all of Sonic's handheld adventures.
As a matter of a fact, here's the level's I would've selected for Generations 3DS:
  • Classic Era:
    • Green Hill Zone from Sonic 1
    • Casino Night Zone from Sonic 2
    • Ice Cap from Sonic 3/Sonic Adventure (the classic stage can borrow more from 3 while the modern stage can take more inspiration from the SA1 incarnation, I know there's issues with the music but I've heard some very nice remixes of the prototype Ice Cap song, perhaps someone can work a little magic)
  • Dreamcast Era:
    • Cosmic Angel from Sonic Advance
    • Music Plant from Sonic Advance 2
    • Route 99 from Sonic Advance 3
  • Modern Era:
    • Water Palace from Sonic Rush
    • Coral Cave from Sonic Rush Adventure
    • Starlight Carnival from Sonic Colors (IDK why they chose Tropical Resort over any other level, seems too safe of a choice to me)
  • Rival boss fights:
    • Fang the Sniper as Classic Sonic (the arena can be based on any zone from Triple Trouble for all I care)
    • Blaze the Cat as Modern Sonic (also in Dead Line from Sonic Rush)
    • Either Silver or Metal Sonic as Modern Sonic (taking place in Frontier Canyon from Sonic Rivals 2, I think a multistage boss fight that has you go through the various match types of that game while using powerups would make for a really interesting fight)
  • Actual boss fights:
    • Big Arms from Sonic 3 as Classic Sonic
    • Moon Zone boss from Sonic Advance as Modern Sonic (I know this was against Super Sonic in the original game, but I was thinking it could be reimagined into a normal encounter complete with moon gravity)
    • Captain Whisker from Sonic Rush Adventure (just make it an original encounter where you're withstanding his forces on a ship)

On a scale from 0 to 10 how accurate is this tier list?

Charmy seems like the kind of the kid to blurt the n word 50 times over xbox live
sticks in boom is very much anti government and a social outcast, I doubt she'd care about anyone saying the n word and would even say it herself
tangle would say the n word in a fit of rage as she frequently says and does dumb shit in the comics since she acts first without thinking
