Um, ackshually, the gaming equivalent of an NC-17 would be AO (Adults Only). M is more equivalent to an R rating.
So they had me record two takes for every line, and I swear, the version that was for the M-Rating, they had me say fuck in every single line. It was just every sentence, I would be yelling 'Sonic, give me that fucking Chaos Emerald!' or something like that.

Although Shadow absolutely repulses me as a video game, the cutscenes and dialogue are hilariously juvenile and I think having a bunch of "FUCK"s added in would have only increased that factor. I consider that the game's only redeeming quality and therefore, RELEASE THE FUCK CUT SEGA.

The rumors were right, Dreamcast Sonic was going to be in Generations all along, it'd just take 13 years (Jesus fucking Christ) to do so...
It's neat that they gave him his upgrades too, I can see the Light Speed Shoes and the Crystal Ring, nice.

What are those Chao doing there? If you look in the original cutscene, there are no Chao to be found except for Cheese.

There's an upcoming mobile game for Netflix called Chao Guardians. Might be related to that, or it's just a cosmetic for the game like you mentioned.
 
There's stuff on the website that wasn't revealed in the trailer, like how Shadow's campaign has an open zone hub ala Bowser's Fury. It opens up more as you unlock new powers.
