The closest you’ll ever get to Shadow 2 is the upcoming Shadow Generations expansion pack for Sonic Generations. It doesn’t have any guns or vehicles, but it features Black Doom as the villain again

Meh, it's just not the same without the guns. They were a central part of the game, without them you're just playing as edgy Sonic.
Besides, they won't dare to make it edgy, so what's the point.

The neutral ending has Eggman convincing Shadow that he is an android(he is not an android), so he does the only logical thing and decides to become android Hitler and take over the world. The game ends with Shadow feeding Eggman a glock sandwich(this is not a joke) while not being aware that he was basically fucked with by Eggman
What are going on about? Gaslighting people like this is fucking hilarious, especially when Omega is just using the entire situation as an excuse to off his own creator

I just want Crush 40 to come back

Omega in his first 2 appearances (heroes and shadow) is probably one of the best done characters in both of the games as well as the only time the guy was done any justice.
His entire backstory is "hey what if there was one of those robots Gamma and his brothers were part of the egg shaped bastard just didn't fucking do anything with after making him leading him to just go "well fuck you too and fuck your other robots". Gamma viewed killing his brothers as a mercy killing to free them, Omega? Nah he just fucking hates his creator. Personality wise he's like a violent version of the robot from Lost in space during the 2nd and 3rd seasons where he was just tired of Dr. Smith and the Robinsons' shit. It's genuinely great.

Only redditfags and e-celebs follow whatever people say about Sonic 06, but I honestly thought it was overhated. It's a bad game, but it's not even on the same level as the worst Sonic game ever. The game was rushed to the core in order to capitalize the franchise's 15th anniversary and it turned out to be an absolute disaster in its final form, but not the worst
sonic 06 is one of the biggest examples of why games should NOT be rushed out for an anniversary or a holiday release.

in fact, Super Mario World on the SNES was a game that suffered from rushed development. they had alot of ideas for it, but then the higher ups at nintendo decided to make the game a launch title for the SNES, this rushed the game's development, and caused alot of content to get scrapped. the game was a success and one of the best games for the snes, but i can imagine this made miyamoto against rushed development because of this. because it turns that situation into a gamble.

in these modern days, no man's sky, sea of thieves, and cyberpunk 2077 had very rough launches with bugs and missing features because the developers couldn't get more time to work on them, but they were able to fix the game and add more features with future updates and they became good.

if they bring back stages from that game, i'm hoping for good ones like lethal highway and sky troops.

and by the way guys. people were talking about a rumor that sonic heroes was getting a remaster. the devs at sega and sonic team debunked it, but they said it's considered.

looking back on the sega dreamcast/nintendo gamecube trilogy. sonic adventure, sonic adventure 2, and sonic heroes, they were really great. these were the first three sonic games i played when i was a kid. they're not one of the very best of the franchise, but they're great nonetheless. they had awesome main themes made by crush 40, and memorable stages too. i'm up for these three games being remastered. and back on december 30th 2023 for japan and january 6th 2024 for US was the 20th anniversary of sonic heroes' release.

To be fair, they've been rushing Sonic games since Sonic 1. Sonic 2 alone has a fuck-ton of unused content and betas that had ideas/zones/enemies that were scrapped because they wanted this thing out the door ASAP. Sonic 3 needed to be split into two seperate cartridges months apart from each other just to get even the majority of their ideas to the public.

TBH Sonic 3 was "rushed" because they spent the bulk of their development time trying to make it work in 3D, and then had to haul ass when that fell through. Also there's the whole thing with their McDonald's promo deal that led to them slicing the game in half.

can we stop praising games that were "fixed" with patches, please? it's part of why modern gaming is so bad. either release games fully-finished, like you used to, or delay them.

I like the looks of Sonic Heroes and Shadow The Hedgehog, but I really don't like the idea of 100% the entire game and getting every ending to unlock the "real" one. You should be able to do that by simply playing the game well, ala finding the 7 Chaos Emeralds in the original titles. True endings should be unlocked within a single playthrough, not be "worked" towards, that's just pointless grinding.

I actually agree that a game like Secret Rings deserves a remake since it was an alright game with it's visuals, the amount of content you get with extra missions and the unlockables tied to it, but what held it back being the shitty ass Wii remote tilt controls, RPG level mechanics just to get Sonic to eventually not be as sluggish as all hell at the start, and how there's no indication which unlocked mission is actually part of the campaign, so you'd end up unlocking multple missions and spend an eternity doing side content if just looking to clear the base game.
i still listen to Seven rings at hand from time to time. its a good song.

Shadow the Hedgehog, at least, gives you the freedom to screw around while you get 100%. There's a lot of stages in that game and most of them can be easily missed. That and the amount of story paths make it one of those games you can pick up and put down every couple of years to see if you can get whatever it is you think you missed until you get everything (unless you decide to cheat with code or someone else's save file).

Other than the edginess and guns, this is certainly the best feature of that game. I wish other Sonic games did this, having story paths and hidden stages that made every playthrough unique. Really, Sega is fucking stupid for leaving out something with this much potential on the table, but again this wouldn't be the first time.

Yeah, but the main problem with the branching story paths is that an lot of them can be pretty incoherent. Like, why the fuck is Eggman doing on the ark or the comet, for instance? Or the how the Shadow Android bit immediately becomes an cop out if you never raided Eggman's jungle base.

Does anything about this franchise make sense? It's a game about furries collecting rings and bullying a fat man, you should just turn your head off for this one or you will end up overthinking everything like Ross did when he played Sonic Heroes
Fuck me that video is already 3 and a half years old
