Personally, everything I've seen from the game seems mixed at worst. I imagine there'll be a lot of 7's when the review embargo lifts.

This is what I feared, the multiplayer being bad and dumbing down the rest of the game, which based on some videos I watched seems to be the case.

Specifically, it seems that the two elements don't gel at all. Kind of figured that considering how context-sensitive some of the powers were.

The Switch NSP file has been dumped and is on most of the Switch rom sites now.

Edit: Played through the first 5 acts. Sonic controls pretty good, but the rest of the game feels kinda jank and really soulless, for lack of a better term. I'd probably be happy with this if we had never gotten Mania.

Sonic 4 was doomed from the moment they teased Classic Sonic via that one image (you may remember the Pikachu in a Sombrero memes), only for it to turn out to be Modern Sonic instead. Everything after that was just the cherry on the shit sundae.

This is kind of a weird complaint, but I am so sick of Sonic Team's music composer's obsession with the snare drums from Sonic 1. It's been a constant ever since Sonic 4, where every time they do something "Retro," it's always those fucking snares. There were other drums samples on the fucking Genesis, you know? Including the Sonic games? Yet they act like it's the only one that exists.
