On the topic of fandom meltdowns, posting this image frequently causes any Sally/Archie Sonic fans to have meltdowns. IIRC Richmunk ranted about it on Twitter after it was initially published, but there were others who echoed that sentiment without a lick of self-awareness.
Are you the infamous Archieschizo who's been spamming and shitting up every Sonic thread on /co/ and /v/ with autistic comic shitflinging over these past few months?

I can't believe the sonic fandom found a bunch of faggots even lamer than them to bully. We truly do live in strange times.

It’s shut like this that is exactly why I hate /sthg/. Every thread I’ve seen gets derailed by a bunch of faggots basically saying “fuck you for liking the wrong parts of Sonic.” I don’t understand how someone can stand to do that every single thread.
I would love to tear it apart some more, but I don’t think it’s worth it’s own thread.

Fuck you, you Chink bugmen crybaby faggots. I hope the crusading for your imaginary doesn't-even-exist waifu was worth it.

Even after winning, Genshin fans are still seething over roguebadnik123's SFM image.

Meanwhile the guy himself locked his account because Genshin fans spent the last few days threatening his life.

They're really fucking mad about Sonic fans mocking their generic anime waifu.

So you see, kids: The Player's Voice award in the Game Awards isn't a competition of which game has the most fans, it's a competition to see who's the most terminally online fanbase. And of course, Genshin fans won by being the perfect cocktail of oversensitive fujoshis and coomer weeaboos with too much free time on their hands.

The funniest part of all is that all they got for their troubles was 5 gambling rolls. That's not even enough to unlock a new character.

Meanwhile, the guy who directed the latest Sonic game doesn't give a shit and sent positive words to fans.

Genshin fans are sending him replies saying that Genshin deserved it more, as expected.

Was that image actually done in SFM? It looked like one of those old 90's cg posters with the crushed blacks and shadows, I'd have thought it was done in Blender or 3DS Max with some fancy shaders.

There wasn't any bribing from what I've seen. That's just a rumor that was spread around.
It was based off Genshin winning last year and MHY commemorating it with giving free gacha rolls to players, as any F2P game would in that situation. Sonic spergs deliberately misinterpreted the possibility of the same happening as being tantamount to bribery.

And yet it happened again this year.

Which makes it even funnier if you're right about it being a deliberate misinterpretation, because that just means that Genshinfags will riot for free.

But, we have enough conjecture to believe the opposite, considering that bugmen and coomer addicts will do anything for social credit gacha rolls.

Another Ryan Bloom hot take, this time on Frontiers' glowing reception:
Ryan Bloom said:
Sonic fans are very thirsty for a win. I get the feeling this could end up like another Sonic Colors situation where right here, right now, everybody is celebrating this game, but in the future a lot of people will look back and have second thoughts once they get some distance from sharing the hype.

They’ll think about how simultaneously empty and cluttered the open zones feel, about how easy it is to miss seeing an NPC’s side story content, how a lot of it doesn’t fit together right, and how gimmicky a lot of enemies are to fight, and how clumsy and low budget all of the cyberspace levels are.

Not really negative memories, never really angry at the game for secretly being bad, but all the jazz and good vibes will mellow out a lot as the honeymoon ends and critical thought seeps in around the edges.

But people are also allowed to feel good about a Sonic game if they want to. Frontiers has good things about it that I think folks will look back on fondly, too, like the music, the story, and the boss fights.

But when you’re in a desert and dying of dehydration, any little bit of water is a blessing, even if it tastes kind of weird, y'know?

This time someone added to it:

i think this is probably worsened quite extremely by the long ass waiting period we got twice here, between Lost World and Forces and then again between Forces and Frontiers. it's easy to simplify game dev down to "more time = better product" and that's probably true to an extent but these two waits are irrefutable proof that this is not always a 1:1 ratio. i'm pretty sure sonic team was downsized after boom. a bunch of people had already left after generations even without that. apparently the frontiers dev team was only 60 people. sega knows sonic sells big even with fewer resources, so they do what they can to get away with shipping a mediocre product (either by reducing scope or by accepting rough edges).

this isn't really even anything new, the difference is just that development is both more expensive and requires more resources than it used to. look at sonic heroes, look at 06, look at some of those rough edges in unleashed despite this not affecting it nearly as badly as it could have (all games i am incredibly fond of, by the way). that dark gaia colossus section feels AWFUL and completely unfinished. plus they split a bunch of optional acts off into dlc packs because they didn't have time to finish them for the base game. the wii games from this era have more polish because that's a less demanding system to develop for.

based on what i've seen on hiring calls going out for sonic team, it does look like sega knows they can't do this forever. all we can do is hope it means we're getting better games. personally i'm happy with what we got, but i know there's so much room to do better here.

Now that begs the question of who among us is actually cross-posting on this thread and /v/ lol

I can see why the Zavok spammers and phantom 'discord cabals' have mindbroken all the 4chan autists, if they're this quick to assume some rando is their nemesis.
TELL US ABOUT SOLO WING.

WHY DOES HE LAUNCH THE V2?
