Thing is, most gamers, including the Sonic fanbase, don't want games that take themselves so serious all the time. We don't want melodramatic stories in the name of so-called "maturity" or "sophistication" or, God forbid, "diversity".

We want blue skies.

We want to earn 1-ups/speed boosts when we collect enough shiny objects.

We want replay value,

twitchy action,

and challenging level design.

We want the end of our games to be so brutal, difficult, and unfair, that we feel like we're losing our minds. That way, when we finally overcome those challenging obstacles, we feel like we
EARNED it.

We want arcade action,

and mascots with attitude.
We want visionaries - REAL visionaries, not the faggots at Sony Santa Monica, or Guerilla Games, or Naughty Dog - make gaming something I can love - not like, not tolerate,
love - again.

Above all else, I want video games to
be video games, and
embrace being video games, and to stop trying to appeal to people who don't even like video games. And when a 3D Sonic game comes along that finally gives us at least a facsimile of what we asked for, what do the soy-filled faggots known as gaming journalists or modern "gamers" do? Shit all over it, "lol, so juvenile and childish, not like our pwecious Daddy of War, uwu"! Here's a thought: if you don't like it so much,
GET THE FUCK OUT, AND LET THE REST OF US GAME IN PEACE. PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE A BIG PART OF THE REASON THE HOBBY I USED TO LOVE SO MUCH IS IN DECLINE. FUCK YOU, AND THE SOY-FILLED HORSE YOU RODE IN ON.
