Fucking lol. I lived in China for a while and there were shitloads of homeless people and they even had these little shantytown neighborhoods in the alleys and stuff between other neighborhoods where they'd built shacks, street markets and stuff like that out of junk construction materials. Though for the most part those folks were much like average everyday people but homeless; much different than the "feral drug addict with severe mental issues" type of homeless you encounter in LA or whatever. They would often ask for money, but I never felt unsafe around them.

That's simultaneously comforting and concerning. Also homeless people are a feature of pretty much any urban city anywhere on the globe. You'd have to be shotgunning the Kool-Aid to honestly believe the issue doesn't exist in your fantasy land.

It's worse that the Chinese ones are normal people rather than drug addicts and the mentally ill. That suggests that the system is failing everyone, even the ones who should be able to get jobs and succeed in their natural state. It's a terrible blow to Communism when Capitalism's "homeless epidemic" is unmedicated schizoids and methheads and in Communist China well-adjusted people are forced to live on the street in poverty.

It wasn't solely the DR thread. The entire Let's Play subforum was like a portal to autistic hell. The Fire Emblem and Paradox game LPs also attracted some incredibly fucked up people. Opening that subforum was when the site really started riding the bullet train to autism land.

I really started to notice it around 2012 or 2013 when a bunch of people like LividLiquid were saying TNA was racist for turning some black wrestlers heel and they were banning people for saying women were hot and stuff.

Now this next part I got from Something Sensitive back in 2014 or 2015, so I can't confirm it's 100% true but there were a bunch of gross nudes leaked, so I believe it. There was/is a trans poster called Rarity who was and probably still is a regular poster in Wrestlehut. Apparently all those guys who were super into Wrestlehut, MasRayPer, Jerusalem etc were constantly hitting Rarity up for nudes and feet pics and buying shit from Rarity's Amazon wish list and shit for years.

So all those years you were posting on Wrestlehut and you thought you were just talking to other guys who liked to order a pizza and smoke a bowl and put on RAW, you were actually talking to a bunch of weirdo perma virgins on the internet who were virtually toe-sucking a tranny because it was the only action they could get.

I always used to wonder how those guys found so much time to post and watch so much wrestling, well, they literally don't do anything else. They didn't have girlfriends. They didn't have jobs. They live on the internet. They have these little chatrooms outside the forum and communicate with each other constantly even when they're not on there. They're probably in their 40s now and still spend 15 hours a day on SA, or SA related chat rooms on Discord or whatever hitting up trannies. Apparently a lot of them have come out as trans since.

With most of the people on Something Awful, they very much want to make a change in the world. The more worrying among them hope to gain something very tangible out of it (proving that they're right and superior to everyone else, gaming laptop, etc.), whereas the armchair generals among them have some sort of income from a variety of sources, but are too timid to put themselves out there. Her tapping into that latter group's desire to make some sort of positive change, and selling her getting a gaming laptop as a way for them to make up for their ancestor's cruelty, is kinda smart in a scammy sort of way. You, too, can absolve the guilt of the past with three easy payments of $29.99!
