I've done a lot of thinking about it ever since I got burned in 2020, and I've come to the realization that the only major difference between the faiths that terminally online progressives and evangelicals espouse is that we're encouraged to think critically about the latter.

For some reason, when you forbid critical thinking and questioning of some segment or aspect of society, sociopaths, conartists and grifters seem to gravitate there and seem to try very hard to rise to the top and twist it to their own ends, no matter what it is or what it was to be originally/before they got a hold of it.

It's all for the greater good, you see. Once they're in power, things will change. They won't be like those politicians who will say everything and do nothing. The truth is that they'll do the same, because it all only comes down to attaining and holding onto power, but they'll make you feel a lot better for it.*

*Or at least different about it.

It's the same pattern that you see in any bubble then be it cults, religious movements, political movements, and so on.

So when it comes to radicalism and extremism in general, this sort of thing happens then.

Well this explains why they had to get threadbanned from the, already shit, Game of Thrones thread over constant thirstposting and raging out over Ramsay Bolton's actor, Iwan Rheon. Anytime someone mentioned how it didn't make sense they hired a GQ model to play a character whose entire life motivation is anger over being a doughy troll that nobody's attracted to, Rarity would fly into a rage and make catty remarks for pages.

(Spoilers, his acting was/is shit and people were utterly bored of the character by his second to third episode)

That didn’t happen. Came close but never happened.

Koala’s Mooch wanted to create a slush fund so people, presumably guilty whites, could donate to pee oh cee causes. Naturally she volunteered herself to be the one to not only start and maintain the fund but to also decide who gets donations and how much. How generous of her!

An undoubtedly racist goon then linked everyone to another thread where around that same time said she wanted a gaming laptop that could play Grand Theft Auto 5 at the highest settings. That was the last time she ever mentioned this slush fund or laptop again. The goon who pointed this out naturally got dogpiled.

So one goon saw right through the grift but without that, she likely would have raised the funds to buy a gaming laptop but it didn’t happen.
 
I thought it was FYAD going to town on her? She also got the guy who explained in a very neutral tone on why the whole thing was a bad idea banned which really set the whole mocking and memory holing into over drive.

The one good FYAD quote from the whole thing was along the lines of " Every now and then we get reminded why we put white people in charge."

I think Literally a Bird talking about how she didn't feel comfortable around Koala's March was what really did it. If it had just been FYAD, it would have been possible to ride it out with C-SPAM's ire against them, but Bird was pretty universally beloved. Much like Icarus, Koala's March flew too close to the sun.
 
I can definitely empathize with having a terminal illness and deciding the quality of life trying to fight it when it's going to win no matter what may not be worth fighting... but "Posting on SA" as a final act?

If it helps, I've been told that making sexually inappropriate jokes/comments about minors is "C-Spam humor", so it's an attitude that goes beyond SA to the various offshoots. I don't know if the Internet made them stupid, but it sure as shit empowered them to be scummy.
