Nothing in FYAD itself is funny now that the actually-talented people have left for twitter or podcasts or low-paying blog contributor gigs, but the thought of all SA cowering in utter terror of 30+yo IT drones that spend most of their time emptyquoting each other's ironic zingers might be the last comedic content on that comedy site.

Nothing in FYAD was ever funny. They make fun of goons. This doesn't require great comedic skill to pull off.

What IS hilarious about FYAD is, as you said, the power they have over the site runners, and the fear they instill the fucked up goons who tremble in fear of being empty quoted in the pink forum. When FYAD is populated by the sort of doughy loser who gets clowned by the guy from Smashmouth, Guy Fieri, and some rando in a shark suit.

DocEvil's fall from grace was something to behold. I won't lie that I didn't laugh my ass off at some threads there back in 04/05 though. I still think back to them making fun of this one goon who used to try and brag about what a great photographer and photoshop king he was who also drove a Mitsubishi or something. Believe his username was Scorpion? Anyway, there were some pretty creative insults and gags posted in that thread. I think I've even got a FYAD.txt file buried somewhere on a backup drive.

FYAD is still composed of relatively somewhat sane people who can at least mock things on SA that go too far up its own ass, like how they immediately provided much needed sanity to the Doobie’s Dog House Death Cult.

See how quickly Bread and Roses went to hell as soon as the average goon was allowed to run loose. Pure dysfunction.
