I'm not sure which would better - for goons to live in the dangerous hellscape they think/LARP they live in, with the tranny death squads and Nazis everywhere, or for them to live in the realistic version of the world they think they would achieve after the revolution.

Basically, would they suffer more if their current delusions were real, or if their future delusions were shattered?

reality: a goon spent tens of thousands of dollars constructing a machine that kills children, entirely by accident

That would be a reasonable thing to do. TCC is a fucked up place with a bodycount that would make Ted Bundy blush.
I should add that list of things I had was shamelessly ripped off something Duncan posted - one of the best (maybe the best) former FYAD guys who unfortunately stopped posting SA and then on the internet entirely because he has some job doing biotech research and didn't want people somehow connecting his posting to his real life persona. Sad.

I used to lurk the TCC opioid thread because it was a fascinating whirlpool of people trying to convince themselves that while they were fucked they were still in control of their life. Anyway, that guy was one of those addicts who absolutely hated NA/12 Step because of the "spirituality" competent. So instead he was a hard core methadone maintenance advocate, despite the fact that he was relapsing all the time. So i guess that he was able to free himself from talking about the Sky Wizard and was able to control his own life... and drive it 6 feet under. Honestly reading some of his old posts it seems like he was simply a lost cause. But this guy who would eventually overdose was also a guy giving advice to others on how to taper and other treatment advice.
