Seraph84 is literally an insane person. My recollection is that he originally became known on SA for doing apologetics for Star Citizen and gradually losing his mind as the project spiraled downward. I remember him spamming threads constantly with weird word salad, puppetmaster shit, and cries for attention that culminated in a post that I remember very clearly because it ate the page and I'm pretty sure it got emptyquoted relentlessly. Seraph84 had decided that he was going to drop a sick own on a Star Citizen drama thread by downloading every single ElectricRetard comic, pasting photo cutouts of Chris Roberts, Derek Smart, and other Star Citizen drama-related figures over random ElectricRetard characters' faces/genitals/fecal eruptions, and dumping them all in the thread in one giant post. Considering how many ElectricRetard comics there are, it must have taken him hours to put that post together.

I can't remember if that was the specific act that Seraph84 got permabanned for, but it stuck out as absolutely schizophrenic. And now he's started registering accounts again. SA attracts the best.

I remember Seraph. Early on he bragged about how much he spent on Star Citizen because he claimed he made millions in bitcoin. Then he got doxed (maybe by Derek Smart, I forget) and it turned out he was a part-time bike courier in NYC spending beyond his means. He got perma'd for arguing that the age of consent should be lowered, and then a further dox revealed that he had been imprisoned for molesting his female cousin or little sister or something. He reregged several times begging for help getting a refund (there was a long odyssey getting the SC dev to refund people even after blowing their release date by several years) because he was in danger of being evicted.

Weird fella.

I tend not to regard them as a hivemind anymore. While they all appear to express the same beliefs, that’s primarily a symptom of the degree to which they fear and hate each other.

Goons are extremely angry people and obsessively search for new things to make themselves angry at. Since they’re no longer allowed to express anger at furries, faggots, dollfuckers, bronies, trannies or literally anything except Nazis, they have expanded the definition of Nazi to encompass the extreme right wing, the right wing, the Republicans, the centrists, the Democrats, the liberals, and the moderate left wing. They now spend all day attacking anybody who expresses an opinion or self-identification aligned with any of the above.

I’m specific about the word “expresses,” too. I do believe their actual opinions are slightly more diverse than they let on. It’s possible to have leftist opinions on some issues and non-leftist opinions on others. The problem is that expressing any non-leftist opinion on SA marks you as fair game. You can agree with 99% of the Communist Manifesto but if you point to one line and say “uh, I think that’s a little bit excessive” then you’re set upon by a mob of wild-eyed neckbeards, some of whom even tacitly agree with you but are afraid to say so and don’t actually care about politics beyond its utility as an excuse to hurt people. Goons eat their own because doing so amuses them, not because they truly believe in any cause they claim to profess. If goons decided among themselves that it was funny and acceptable to attack and threaten pediatric cancer patients, a day later they’d all be creeping each other’s post histories for anything they could use to paint a fellow goon as a pediatric cancer patient.

Goons are scared shitless of this site because they’re scared shitless of each other. Back when doxing was a thing on SA, having your dox get posted was synonymous with some goon (either the one who posted your dox or someone else on the site) using your dox to personally fuck with you. There’s a parallel with the social structure of chimpanzees, who form into roving gangs not because of any lasting personal bonds between the gang members, but because it makes it easier to fuck up a chimp whom they all hate even more than they hate each other at that particular moment.

He's a former /v/ STALKER shitposter and hung around the Misery guys, you can find snippets of his posting history on ModDB via Google (measly_twerp), but he even nuked the account there too. I'm pretty sure his Mastodon was the more damning thing though, since he practiced socialist libertarianism at one point, and has lots of hits for all sorts of lolbertarian instances, you can't find shit beyond the fact his username is everywhere in archived convos, also lolling at "solarpunk"

I agree with your points because I've seen how each forum turned from deranged, froth-in-the-moth to unaware self-parody. However you are being generous with "expressing" being the Modern Goon spares less than a line for either rebuttal or just displeasure.
Examples: "fuck off", "fuck you", "go get run over", "suck on a 12 gauge"; these are all admittedly, permitted replies to anyone not part of the established Groupthink. What began as a stash of faggots on discord LARPing as Stasi/KGB intelligence officers has sprawled and smeared over in such way that now there's no viable alternative.
