If you guys stay down send Rocket over. This place desperately needs someone to LARP as an upper-crust jet pilot sommelier.

Sorry to hear about SS. It was an entertaining place, and it led me here. The white noise (so to speak) got boring though. I never bothered to register, and haven't been there in months.

Apparently this is a thing...

Obviously written by somebody that has visited SA.

Ah yes, SA, well known as a hive of right wing thought.

How about the part where LF became mainstreamed into Weird Twitter and the SJW movement?

SA didn't create SJW or radical liberalism but it sure is interesting to see the LF and "Mods, MODS?!" culture leak out onto campuses and IRL.

No huge loss tbh, sose has been quite dead and gay for a while now. Kinda lost the plot after they accepted the fashy tranny as one of their own. SASS was better, though it was always amusing to see guys still steamed about being banned from an internet forum 10 yrs later larp as alpha chads.

RIP rocket, boomin with the angels now.

SASS was better
The unique mix of goons that wanted to laugh at goon failure, disgruntled ex-goons who came to the site to shit on Lowtax and co., as well as the weird political extremists who took the whole FYAD humour too serious was lightning in a bottle.

Every attempt to recreate the unbend atmosphere and culture of SASS fails because nobody cares about SA anymore and everything on the internet now gets super political and serious immediately. So all that is left from the times of SASS is the political circlejerk.

The last post I read on SoSe was from some guy getting buttmad about SJWs trying to invade muh anime or some shit, just compare that to the old threads on SASS where people had fun mocking the nerds of ADTRW.

I used to hate Lowtax for being such an arrogant imbecile, but now he's just this pathetic meek guy who occasionally shows up on Dick Masterson's show in between his ambien and box wine benders. And he still has that terrible sense of humor that's 90% "Remember this corny thing from 90's internet?" and 10% all-too-real self deprecation.

That mix of incredible arrogance alongside a userbase that was afraid of him, like a perfect reflection of The Emperor's New Clothes, really brought forth a hard downfall for ol' Richard once the site started dying. It's a nice preview of what a hell of a lot of SJW lunatics are going to go through when Clown World finally ends.

The only people who'd care enough about SA to get mad about it on an offsite in 2019 are irony-poisoned political spergs or miserable obsessive nerds (with unironic anime avatars and shit) who take themselves way too seriously. Most of the cool, funny people left the SASS spinoff world long ago.

Gamergate et al have given a lot of goony types unwarranted self-importance (you like nerd shit? guess you're a motherbitching culture warrior now, oooh la la). Unban Keep it Real so we can end this madness and wake up in 2007 again.

I don't even pay attention to SA anymore unless someone else posts something funny/dumb someone said, I just like the group who posts at SS and wanted to keep the site together

I wouldn't say that most of us were really burning with care about SA. There were a couple threads about it among many other threads making fun of goony behavior (which has blossomed all over the internet and IRL, as everyone here knows all too well). We never thought we were going to really be a "New SASS" and have anywhere near the reach, number of posters, or diversity that site had--though there was a heady time in the first couple of years when we went from 20 members to 1000 and were doxxing SA mods like crazy that it seemed possible. It was more a final flare up before the end than anything else.

Mostly it was:
I just like the group who posts at SS and wanted to keep the site together

That was most of the reason for TNE and SS and the only reason why it would continue now.

This is pretty true. SASS was banned pantshitters, banned normies, banned racists, people who weren't banned but wanted an outlet to criticize the political and moderation directions of SA, and a lot of the funny, creative people who were being shut out of the new Zach/Fistgrrl/Ozma led SA. What I saw, at least on our board, was once we lost interest in SA and there was a lot less interesting stuff to mine, a lot of people left except the racist/WN strain who "educated" any normies that were left to The Truth and that became our focus. The election brought out a lot of it and broke us from being anything resembling a center-right oriented, general interest board.

By summer of 2016 it was 50% Alt Right guys quoting Daily Stormer 888s and TRS memes. Not everyone agrees with me but that's what I saw.

SS was cool and good but honestly, once SA had been mortally wounded via doxxing a bunch of mods and prominent posters SS kinda sorta lost it's raison d'etre. It was a pretty decent community with a lot of good posters but the drama and slapfights were corrosive and took their toll. It was a combination of fragile egos and goony not knowing when to quit that made the atmosphere kinda iffy at times. Also, people taking the internet too seriously.

In all it was fun and memorable and had a good 6 year run. As gay as it sounds, livestreaming race riots while in chat was awesome, and 2016 election night was out of control too. We'll see how it goes from here on out, but SS classic was a blast.

It started on the downslope once certain faggots went all "ethics in doxing".
