Pretty much. Every post was straight deleted from existence but the forums still thought they were there for some reason. So any thread he had ever posted in wouldn't let you view it or post in it at certain times because the page number for how many posts there were supposed to be didn't actually match the page number of how many posts there actually were. I couldn't even begin to guess on the technical specifics due to the clusterfuck of code those forums must be.

Since he had posted everywhere for years a ton of threads were fucked. The more he posted in a thread the more fucked it was since he might have deleted entire pages worth of his posts from the post count, so threads were just completely killed since they would never match page counts. Other threads were breaking every page since he might only have 5-10 posts in them, so people would have to manually reply to older pages to kick the post count high enough that the forum would let people view the most recent page, every time a page change happened.

The forums ended up going down for awhile so the problem could be dealt with. I'm not sure how they fixed it.

It hadn't ever been a problem because an administrator with database access never had a huge public tantrum and meltdown resulting in them deleting all of their posts before.

Having done some database work in my time, what happened was that such deletions left "ghost records" dependent on certain entries being present. Usually, when a forum post is deleted, the entry is blanked of content but still left in the database, even if not visible on the client side (what people see). However, what likely caused the breakage was deletion of the base records themselves, which were dependent on certain post numbers being visible, so people had to "fill" the ghost records with some sort of content to cause the database to flush the error.

GBS is dead at this point anyways. The crybaby faggots from DnD and FYAD (posters, mods, and admins alike) have been trying to get it shut down for years for allowing unapproved opinions. While they haven't been able to get it officially removed yet, they've all but succeeded killing it through topic bans. Now that they've banned any political discussion, along with the very lengthy list of other banned topics, there's really nothing of interest that can talked about there.

Yeah the slow bleed of banned users that won' come doesn't help.

I liked that they kicked out the political thread but upon think about it they only sucked because of the screaming of the work crew.

So once the last shit poster falls what will FAU do ban himself?

GBS is essentially Reddit now with a bunch of threads about nothing and a mod that will ban you for posting things he doesn't agree with. Kind of funny that they have a Reddit hate thread when it's what they've become.
 
I've been going through the old posts in this thread since I joined and and I've caught up through the creation of niggertown. What the fuck KM isn't even black? Of fucking course it's some light skinned girl going around bitching about "yt" and lecturing everyone about their privilege.

In forums like SA, ResetEra, Metafilter and the like, you're allowed to get away with more obnoxious behaviour as long as you're spouting the right opinions. Moreso if you're 'marginalised' and so can use the defence of 'are you trying to police minority anger, you bigot?' People like KM often manage to bend the rules to breaking point, but make it very hard to call them on it because of the REEEEing that will ensue, from them and the users that agree with their positions and so will defend them. And once they get mod powers, and/or friends on the mod team, they have to do something truly heinous to be successfully called out on their shit, let alone dealt with properly.

The best way to deal with them is root them out early, but that rarely happens. It's part of the SJW infestation technique. She's presumably clearly breaking the rules, but no-one with any authority will call her on it, and as long as she has even the flimsiest defence - e.g. 'I'm not begging for me, I'm begging for a charity that I'll give to once you give the money to me ASKING FOR PROOF IS RACIST AND MISOGYNIST' she'll get away with it.

In all fairness, it would be difficult for Lowtax to punish her for that when that's literally all he uses the forum for himself.

Hasn't stopped him in the past, he's banned people for genuine charity fundraising without permission before. Fuck those dying kids and their leukaemia, paypig bucks belong in the mangosteen and ambien fund.
