IT'S TIME FOR A MAJOR BOMBSHELL!

According to a user who privately messaged Lowtax, he confirmed that the Kiwifarms ad is here to stay!

Thanks for the update, Manky!

Worth noting is voice of reason Bedlamdan actually giving good advice (read: stop taking easy bait that exists to bait you), but gets turned against immediately for having a semblance of logical thought.

I can only handle so much more sodium before I have a heart attack.

So, is their any mechanism to protect against us creating custom avatars? Because my payday is tommorow and I've got a few idea's for some of the posters.

Safe harbor rules does generally protect owners of websites from being responsible for user uploaded content. But I think you're required to remove obviously illegal content (like childporn) within a reasonable timeframe. So Lowtax could get fucked from an attack like that if he don't respond quickly enough.

The admins could just take the site offline until Lowtax deigns to deal with it.

No.

Actually there's a mechanism against protecting against us creating custom avatars. Mods and admins can't see who does it, as reportedly by both mods and admins, since it's considered a forum action instead of a moderator action. It's completely anonymous.

I think just a banner ad saying "sudden-onset gender dysphoria has no basis in medical science" and linking the relevant research (https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0202330) would cause an apocalypse.
We should just call this whole ordeal the "Something Awful Ad-pocalypse."

Lowtax is taking a stand and allowing the Kiwifarms advertisements?

Maybe he won't get savagely cucked this time since Zen Death Robot has been MIA lately and isn't publicly threatening to quit and making demands.

"Trolling" SA by paying lowtax?

Basically, it isnt lowtax who is the target here, but rather every person who is getting increasingly testy with him. If Rich felt like being funny, he could reply to anyone begging him to change their avs by banning them

I’m a bit surprised lowtax would allow the KF ad to remain but maybe he’s just tired of the shit or it’s a way to stick it to the assholes who caused drama over him posting here.
The go-to reasoning is that it will inspire users to buy the no-ads update which, for Lowtax, means:

ehhergrwe.gif

Paradoxically, no goon likes the ad, but they'll spend money for it.
