No, there are still some large active forums out there - Sherdog and World of Warcraft forums to name two.

Kiwifarms isn't the largest by a long shot, I think even Resetera is a tad bit little larger in terms of it's userbase.

It isn't games because of the lack of active membership in most Goon games means they have to have some mechanism to allow in non-members (or simply go extinct) - so you can pretty much just join anyhow.

Most games/guilds also have divested from SA a long time ago - even the "big" ones (FFXIV, WoW, Eve Online, etc) all have their own forums and discords - so you never need to engage with SA directly in any way to participate in a SA community, which is nothing to say how absolute unfun it is to play in said guilds. You would have to jump though a series of authentication hoops for the "right" to listen to some tranny talking about their personal discovery journey pretty much every day as well as selectively enforced rules, horrible players, and a discord with various highly political horrible takes and channels devoted to furry fursonas.

Goonsquad (and every version of it) is just your boring dying guild in pretty much every game just with even more unfunny inside references that you don't get.

And I just remember a fuck 25 year old post about the prequals movies. Some goon gave a really good idea on how to keep the set peaces and events in the movie pretty much the same, only not retarded. Like have driods fight on tatooin, so thats why the red neck bar tender doesnt want their kind, people have light sabers left over from the fight, the pod race is not a bet but a set up for obiwan to fake an accident and get anikin,

Also let anikin be an adult pilot etc.

There is nothing unique about SA (I mean other then it being one of the few 90s forums still running) in 2026. No real reason for it to exist really and certainly no appeal. If you want to discuss pop culture and be lectured by mentally sick trannies on fascism you can go anywhere on Reddit the largest forum on the internet. SA offers nothing that Reddit doesn't and in a much worse format. It's obsolete. That's the best word for it. It's like watching movies on VHS instead of just streaming it there is no real reason but nostalgia for something that is long, long gone and frankly wasn't that good to begin with.

I can't speak objectively because I was a retarded teen but between 03 and 08 it was the best place on the internet.

I have so many fond memories and I remember spending hours reading the front page stuff on school computers. The internet was smaller then, and I'd never seen anything like what SA had.
 
I just wanted to also say the brief few years I used SA in the early 2010s they had this huge complex about Reddit and how much better they were then Redditors because Reddit loved anime and was full of pedophiles and I just thought like how unselfaware are you guys? Do I even need to get into the long pedo history of SA? Also politically they are one to one with Reddit almost. Slightly more tankie but other then that? Near identical views. Trump is Hitler, Israel is committing wholescale genocide in Gaza, trans folx are being gunned down etc etc.

That was definitely in the malaise era. All the really good posters had gone elsewhere and the lunatics were running the asylum.

I was still really active but in a few niche holdout subforums. It was still OK if you stuck to your little corner but it was nothing like the heyday.
 
I enjoyed reading the crackhead clubhouse although more often then not it was depressing rather than funny.

I think the bleakest one was some guys wife logging on after he nodded off in his car in their driveway and died from the heat, but her main concern was how to properly dose the drugs he had left

I remember one hardcore addict needing a fix so bad he boofed like 3 bottles of pepto bismol

Or the JOOS threads lmao
That guy taking too much JOOS for a week, ruining his entire life. Basically entered some blackout state and ruined every one of his relationships, totalled his car, lost his job and spent all his money. Then the other guy who ordered a grand piano but lived in an apartment

The highlight of the JOOSE thread was the halfwit who didn't know what the term "eyeballing" a dosage meant, and issued it meant you dose yourself by putting it in your eye.
