I'm idly curious. Why has there just been this fucking explosion of Borderline Cows in the last few years? I imagine on some level they've always been there, but we've never seen them in quite the numbers we've seen in the last few. Anyone care to chime in with their thoughts?

I'm guessing they've always been around but now you get oppression points for saying you're mentally ill so everyone wants to brag.

It is kind of weird that society has gone from bragging about getting a promotion to bragging about having to see a therapist because you're such a gigantic piece of shit to people.

Doxxing is pathetic and the people who do it are sad, says the leader of the forum who spent years raising doxxing into an art form.

I notice he is careful not to give credit to the fact his attention never would've returned to SA except for the sole reason that KF started shining a spotlight on the site's bullshit that was too bright to ignore.

For those who don't know, Koala is in the borderline personality club too like so many other female Lolcows. She used to post about it in the mental health thread.
You make her sound kind of like Miltank, for those who remember the old PVCC forum.

Probably just a bunch of safe spaces getting breached. Put someone in an echo chamber and they'll probably turn into a lolcow sooner or later.

Even before negrotown, SA was a safe space in many ways. It has been pretty unfunny for years, so people just didn't bother to post there, everyone with dissenting opinions got probated or banned and the lolcalfs were allowed to fester and grow in their protected threads, hidden inside subforums only they and their enabler frequent. They felt safe, but all that protected them was a bubble of general disinterest in their part of the internet.

Once they got our attention via Shmorky and people took a closer look, it became obvious that there was a bounty of tard cum to be harvested.

That sounds remarkably similar to how similar groups got on political websites, on both sides of the political divide. They echo-chambered and nobody gave a shit, while they worked themselves up into a frenzy. Finally the crazy gets too intense to keep in the containment zone, and said zone is breached when they inevitably draw seven fucktons of attention to themselves. By this point, the hugbox is a cesspit.

The doxxing did its job.

If Richard stays the course with his new agenda, maybe one day he'll even come to appreciate what happened.

It's like walking into your basement, smelling something weird and looking into a room you haven't been using for years, only to find it overgrown with black, spongy mold from ceiling to floor.

I think another element is that goons generally tend to keep to themselves, so there were very few opportunities for outsiders to even catch wind of what was going on there. The only forum that really gets outside attention anymore is Let's Play, but that subforum is pretty disconnected from the rest of SA.

I think it's because they self diagnose and some of the traits of personality disorders are vague/ubiquitous. Like "no sense of self-identity" is a trait of BPD but I would imagine everybody has at one point gone through a time in their life where they were unsure of themselves or their identity, of who or what they are and stand for. "Feeling abandoned or alone" is another one but everyone has had feelings of emptiness or probably been so lonely they felt a little bit desperate for company, like they needed somebody. But that's still different from those traits being so extreme they inhibit your development and how you interact with the world. They have to be almost debilitating and persistent for it to actually be a disorder. The traits and characteristics have to be taken to such a level that an average, normal person cant probably comprehend, so people think that any behavior that is too far out there is the far end of extreme because in actuality the far end of extreme is pretty uncommon.

I think the threshold for it to be an actual personality disorder is higher than you would think but personality disorders are based on traits that most people have, just taken to the extreme. So you will see people take traits too far and then other people come along and go, "So and so has taken this much further than a normal person, they must have _____ personality disorder" and then these other people take up the mantle and go, "Yeah thats me! Im special, dont fuck with me!"

Yeah I'm hoping Koalas March stays in power for a long time to come, think of the content!

It's a hilariously ironic counter to the SJWs' never-ending claims of imaginary racism.
His arms full of chicken and watermelon for his hungry family, poor Lowtax has the misfortune of slipping and falling face first into a pile of soot. Even more unfortunate, his soot allergy causes his lips to turn red and swollen...

KM is doing more to undermine antiracism on SomethingAwful than a coordinated alt-right troll campaign ever could.

"fine if you think it was racist of me to de-mod you for your dumb meme then what do you propose? do you want your own negrotown subforum to moderate?"
"ok"

(30 seconds later)

"LOWTAX IS A CRACKER-ASS BITCH FAGGOT WHO FORCED US ALL INTO A GHETTO BUT WE WILL OVERCOME"
