Because they are abusing their power to do so. Lowtax's tweet allowing goons to post about Gamergate was reposted in the site discussion forum (because Lowtax was too criticism-averse to actually post on his own forums at that point) and Spanlove, Ralp, et al. could not disobey a direct order.

The chain probates are because admins have to approve mod probations and bans that are longer than six hours. Admins have pretty much said that they will not stop idiot kings from doing chain probations because it is burdensome for the mod in question to do them, which means that they must really want that guy gone. Except, of course, it isn't burdensome to set a reminder on your phone and go to your "reprobate this person" favorites bar link.

edit: And of course FYAD was originally set up as a forum where you can post literally anything, provided it isn't illegal. Gore? Fine. Low effort/zero grammar posting? Fine. Image spam? Fine. The IKs were around to do avatar changes and report animal sex images. Now that place results in more fucking mod actions than the rest of the forums combined, despite being extremely low traffic.

Reminder that the major force behind creating 4chan was a shit ton of anime posters from something awful got ran out from there because they hijacked FYAD for two weeks by winning IK votes with a sub forum invasion then had the FYAD superstars cry to lowtax about anime being pedo shit and got everyone in one of the major anime threads that had been moved to FYAD perma banned

Humor comes from ideas that surprise and trip the audience, often in ways that are at least a little uncomfortable. One of the primary purposes of humor is to encourage the audience to reconsider beliefs and question ideas. This is why humor must not be allowed.
