Haha yeah, that's what I thought at first. But I checked on the guy and he's legit; he is the lead engineer for one of those huge fantasy football sites that advertise nonstop, he's been on the forums since early 2000s, and he gets paid to speak at tech conferences. I'm obviously not just going to immediately hand over the keys to him, but I'm letting him code a mockup so ZDR and I can see how he codes and if it will work.
I didn't mean to imply that he's incompetent - just that custom code is a potential pain in the ass because the only person who understands it is the person who wrote it. Plus there'd be a longer debugging period. You don't want to recreate a situation where years down the track the uniqueness of your software becomes a liability.
