While we're discussing forum death, I'd like to request Lowtax throw open the gates long enough for an archiving rampage if he's aware of impending SA death, in a position to do so, inclined to humor me, etc. whenever that happens. I've never been a member, but I'd hate for such a formative internet community to be lost to history. You have the power to make future archeologists sift through your forum and write papers about it, and that's too hilarious to miss.
 
Can we appreciate the fact that even when it comes to simple discussion of shit and hearing Lowtax out/shooting the shit, we somehow still got SoSe to collectively drop their fucking spaghetti over it and create a bunch of accounts with which to sperg and provide us with even more content? Because that shit is fucking amazing. The sort of "content for nothing" I can really get behind.
 
Honestly, I always thought Lowtax was a thin-skinned crybaby who couldn't take criticism, but props to him for showing up here.

For the record I've never been banned and I was only probated once after one of those competition threads that used to get posted.

Just out of curiosity, what caused you to form that opinion of me? Did you read something I wrote that suggested that, or was it one of those things where you read somebody saying about me? It's interesting to determine how often opinions are formed of people without ever having personally interacted with them (assuming that's the case; if I wrote or did something and brought it on myself, then that's my bad).

Lowtax, is there a reason you don't just archive the entire forum and make a new one?

As I understand a lot of your webmaster woes come from the horrible code you're having to use.

Right now I'm in the process of talking to the xenForo people about migration, in addition to a coder who claims he can write an entire forum from scratch (which sounds too good to be true, but so far he's made some very impressive stuff in just a couple days).

Migration? No offense but you're talking about like two decades of posts in a database held together with elmer's glue. Unless you're just wanting to migrate the users and not the posts.

The database is perfectly fine and stable. We dumped all our hardware and use purely cloud services which can scale to whatever they need to scale to. Granted we'll have to convert the db first, but migrating all posts and threads won't be a problem at all (besides the downtime it will take to transfer).
