Here is FAU shutting down a thread talking about your fundrasing drive, because someone was critical of you. They were not rude nor disrespectful. But they had a dissenting opinion and a Admin told him he sucked and shut down the thread cause he would ban people.

Being totally honest, this kind of proof and the general "Your staff sucks" situation is always the same everywhere. Most of the time it's hard to distinguish between real evidence of staff abuse and salty members getting banned (or denied) for being total spergs and then trying so hard to bash said staff because MUH BUTTHURT.

You're new here so you wouldn't know it, but it's more or less the same situation we have here with certain boards and certain users (banned and soon to be banned).
Most of the time it's easy to spot a problem because if one or two people complain about someone, it's just butthurt, but when most people complain about someone then you know what to do. But in this case were there's simply too much people and not everyone is reliable, it's certainly hard to keep everything going smooth for everyone all the time.

The best way to report a staff abuse is to build a good case, which means grabbing not just a screencap of hence staff saying "LOL fuck off" but actually getting lots of screencaps, links, archives and referrals from said staff being a dick to several users without a good reason (i.e. users who aren't speds or summerfags). The wider the time lapse of that behaviour going on, the most solid your case would be because it means the staff tirade wasn't just because he had a bad week but actually a staff being an ass by nature.

Anyway, I'm not excusing Lowtax but neither am I asking for his crucifixion, I'm just saying that blaming him all the time for anything that happens inside, or even outside, his jurisdiction is getting pretty boring by now and the few who keep trying so hard to get a reaction from him are just repetitive and failing so hard it's almost embarrassing for everyone.

GBS's (well, formerly GBS's) China.jpg thread was active, funny, and not messing with other threads. Genesplicer, who never posts in it, has in the past gone in banning sprees in it and even shut it down for supposed racism. The reason? Goons were using the Chinese equivalent of the term redneck, nong, while laughing at Chinese rednecks. Now all nongposting is banned under penalty of genesplicer the faggot ruining the thread and eating your :10bux: again.

Even worse is that the people who complain about threads like that one are usually not even regular GBS posters. The mods don't actively monitor the threads so it's easy for FYAD/D&D to troll GBS for shit and giggles by periodically complaining about "isms" happening in GBS.

This came up time and time again in the QCS after GBS was closed and FAU refused to even acknowledge that posters like INRI and BBG were just concern trolling.

I'm sure SoSe has some weird dudes but you're putting people down for not meeting the posting standards of a guy who raped an 8 year old child.

Yes, every person who was banned on the forums was banned by Aatrek, the TV forum moderator, and the rules and posting standards he created. Despite the fact he never banned anybody, nor had the power to, I am clearly putting people down for not meeting his posting standards.

I know the whole "pedo mod" thing is your central rallying cry, but try to keep things in perspective here. You guys invoke his name every change you get, when he had very little to do with the forums. none of them. i know this may be a surprise but it's actually not hard to pick a random point the leper's colony where fistgrrl or ozma were admins and find a long string of bans occurring within the span of 60 seconds. it turns out that the years of people complaining about SA forums having bad moderation led by a bad team actually might have some merit despite the business owner who's literally begging for money due to declining revenue talking about how there totally isn't an issue.

Why does it matter so much to you guys? I've always thought Something Awful was a shitty forum full of the most obnoxious people on the internet, so I did the sensible thing and didn't visit it, didn't pay ten bucks, didn't post on it, didn't spend the next six years of my life crying about it's decline in an offsite hugbox, and didn't lecture Lowtax about he could make it more personally appealing to me the second I saw an opportunity to yell at him.

I mean, it's Something Awful. It's obnoxious and shitty and full of obnoxious shitty goons. Everybody knows it's obnoxious and shitty and the only people in the entire world who think it was ever good are obnoxious shitty goons. Is being an obnoxious shitty goon really this important to you that you have to cling to it for years after the rest of the obnoxious shitty goons decided they had no room for your particular brand of obnoxious shitty goonery?
