The hivemind stuff tended to kick in a bit stronger around 04-05 range after the cat ladies took hold once Lowtax stopped paying attention so much and was just raking in cash while guzzling wine and ambien. GBS was more a mix of General and A&N early on, there were quite a few different characters there in the early years that were all over the place in how they'd act. Like you'd see a mix of genuinely funny stuff with the news and there were a bit of differences of opinion, least before it went to shit which is kinda arguable about when it got really bad. Basically the hivemind wasn't that bad til the super-liberal types got in.

But yeah after about 08-09 the social justice stuff (trannies) was infecting the place mostly starting in like LF as almost a joke for a second before it became serious. It was some wild shit to see how the culture got shifted over just a handful of years.

Somewhere around then Lowtax wandered in and saw how strict things got and the Halloween post (I think that's when it happened) but it was basically like "lol you can say anything you want in GBS now" which probably made the mods mad as fuck cause people were saying nigger getting probation from mods then getting the probes undone by Lowtax. He kinda did that for a day or so then things were slightly less strict for a min after.

Eventually though it got the faggots whining in QCCC's and D&D/CSPAM and shit went back to what it was like before that, but worse.

I left around the time the mods start doing cover-up stuff on shit Shmorky got into.

I'm probably wrong, but the SA Forums went to shit with Ozma getting more power, EN and Helldump threads being things, YCS was a shitty Games version of fyad with faggots like Dandy J reeing over shit posting, and mods/admins like Spocker Jones and AxeManiac going apeshit or getting banned for pedophilia. I was posting there until 2012 or 2013 when they decided that mocking Dobson and B^U would be bannable offenses. Then you had Anita Sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn infecting SA, making it the SJW hive it is now. The Let's Play fags like Fatbeef, Voidburger, Deceased Crab, and Psychadelic Eyeball also ruined SA (holy shit, Fatbeef looks like a mess with his fat pink-haired wife). I don't know how I avoided bans and probations because my shit posting on Games pissed off a lot of people even when I wasn't trying to provoke anyone (One guy went out of his way to stalk me on AIM). It was funny to see some of the fgc fags get banned when they sperged out over things like MK9 or anyone criticizing/exposing FGC shit. Games started to feel like a landmine like GBS and FYAD.

From my experiences playing FFXI and WoW with Goons, it's not worth it unless you can tolerate the cliquey bullshit. If you didn't suck enough dick or you weren't part of their clique you' won't go far in FFXI, and that game requires you not to be an antisocial asshole. If you didn't poopsock with the WoW Goons, you were fucked with endgame content even though it wasn't that bad to hit endgame (Missed out on old raid content? Too bad, faggot). Some Goon guilds imploded from their drama, either rebuilding into different guilds or stayed dead. Mal'Ganis Goons were popular before they became sjw fags, but no one liked the Alliance Goons on Kel'Thuzad. Even SA Forum members who don't play WoW hated the Alliance goons. This is coming from someone who was pretty infamous in FFXI btw (I was a dick, but there were much worse people on the Goon server. I'm not sorry for most of the shit I got involved with). I tried to run one or two SA guilds at the time, and did my best to make them chill (note the word "tried"). I heard Eve is full of unlikable cunts.

Giant organization so yeah, probably. Don't remember anyone particularly unlikeable, though, so it was easy to avoid them.

The cliquey bullshit is everywhere yeah. Even if you try not to do it, sometimes there's just a person you really don't want to invite without outright blowing them off.

Its funny cause SA also had this great thread going called "Your webcomic is bad and your should feel bad" with a dude making a pretty funny website during the explosion of webcomics in the late 00/ early 10s. But like most things the unfunny people got ahold of the idea and just completely ran it into the ground. I believe the OG of the thread completely deleted his website to help stop the rot.

Reading the 'Your Webcomic Is Bad' blog back in the day, after some comic artist or other sperged out about it, was my introduction to lolcow culture and is ultimately the reason I'm posting here today.

A lot of his reviews haven't aged well, just because they're too reliant on 'swearing-as-humor,' as was the style at the time, but the Dresden Codak ones were fucking spot on.

So I ve been reading the lepers colony why are people catching bans in the destiny (video game) thread? I never played destiny I only know bungie was tired of making halo and thats about it.

I only see like two guys catching a ban. One dude was having a melt down about some game mode being removed or something I can't tell, and the other guy used ablist slurs to mock him.
