White dwarfs eventually decay into black dwarfs and then no one really knows. A fitting end for SA, slowly fading away into nothingness until the only people who remember it are oldies (for lack of a better term), channers, and us (I guess?). And maybe internet archeologists.
I'm slightly showing my immaturity here, but I think I may be one of the few zoomers who knows what SA is, because I guarantee you that in 20-30 years almost no one will.

Damn why are they so bad? they’re just oldfag shitposters that date back to the Web 1.0 days of the internet, they are going to rot away like decaying flesh anyway so it’s anyones business what happens to them at this point. I will say I have some respect for them for giving us a lot of modern internet ‘lexicon’ and regardless of their current state we wouldn’t have the farms without them so I have to give them credit for that.

No, those guys left long ago for greener pastures. Some to KF, some to Twitter, some to Reddit, but they all eventually left SA. Lowtax famously shooting himself (after ruining his life and also posting on KF).
The people left now are the absolute bottom of the barrel - humorless, perpetually offended, overwhelmingly terminally online. There is no content being intentionally generated over there and there hasn't been for years.

Exactly, but even setting aside the Goons, their jannies are worse. It seems like every Goon who gets elevated into the "magical" role of janny immediately and permanently loses all sense of humor.
Take Namtab for an example. Back when they were shitposting about TV Tropes on those years-old threads, they had some semblance of humor (mostly because Fast Eddie was a fucking moron). But when they became a mod, they lost every sense of humor and started sucking the corpocock - Jeffrey's, to be precise.
It's a little depressing. Namtab could have left for some other site or even gone on KF (though I doubt they'd actually enjoy it), but nope, they'd rather waste years of their life on a forum that will be a quarter of a century old next year. That, to me, is insane.

Exactly. Anyone who actually had a semblance of sanity on the site left long ago, and the ones who didn't either fucked off into relative obscurity, committed Internet suicide (i.e. stopped being so visible) or actually committed suicide (ahem, Lowtax).
Lowtax is dead forever because of stupid personal decisions he made and the old jannies have mostly been permabanned because of stupid politically incorrect jokes. No one who wants to be on the site is still there, and everyone who's still there has enough Stockholm syndrome to keep them there.
If I had to picture SA as a person, I'd picture it as someone who went from a good-looking young and athletic man (SA's glory days) to a frail old man coughing and wheezing in a hospital bed as its own deranged population consumes itself.

I thought the Lead Investigators here determined the site in its current form covered basic operating costs and maybe turned a meagre profit at minimum? I may be misremembering though. Lowtax shooting the golden goose that is his Patreon (before turning the gun on himself) was really something else considering he literally just had to keep his head down and keep cashing his internet bux but the man couldn't even do that.

The man couldn't do anything that didn't feed his addiction and he killed himself the day after he got slapped with legal consequences for pissing away hundreds of thousands of dollars in alimony and child support.

Jeffrey disclosed that himself. That the site made back what it cost and then some, for a small but consistent profit.
That said - Lowtax burned it all down likely knowing he was going to have another imminent divorce and probably planned to kill himself at the end of the road.

Not only have they convinced themselves that by being the Most Troll-Free Site™ and at the forefront of online social justice warfare are the real reasons the site ever became popular instead of being a funny internet forum circa 2000-2009ish, they are convinced that by leaning extra hard into the moral blowhardiness they somehow will end up keeping the site going until the heat-death of the universe. Then again, there's still plenty of goons who believe the site only started going downhill because GBS 2.0 got implemented where Lowtax sort of remembered that he's running a comedy thing for once and removed like three quarters of the most retarded rules.
