That is a very feminine hand and it looks very small in comparison to his egg-shaped head. iirc this photo was spammed pretty regularly when the guy fieri thing happened until the other mods started banning for it. iirc

Yeah Hendren stopped posting in FYAD (the Cool Kids Forum) after everyone else started clowning on him about it.
 
IIRC he was already on his way out sort of when the egg stuff happened. He wasn't posting as much fyad prior to and was likely ostracized already from cool kid island. That picture, though, is still really funny to me and I still chuckle a bit when seeing his withered babyhand hold his phone, oblivious to the world and photographer. I wonder which amazing twitter meme was born in that socially-awkward and permanent moment.
 
Not sure if it was posted here before, but the entire Caro saga is one of the most unbelievable achievements of Something Awful in years. This GQ article is a good summary, but here's a quick list of bullet points.

Paranoid schizophrenic goon and self-taught combat medic Kevin "Caro" Dawes in the helmet, holding up the catheter

  • Caro posted a lot in Goons in Platoons (the subforum for goons in the armed services, police, etc) and The Crackhead Clubhouse (subforum for drug discussion). He accused the police, the CIA, Qualcomm Corporation, the local government of Austin, TX, and Cornell University of gangstalking him and beaming coded messages via psychic microwaves directly into his head.
  • He was permabanned at least twice for his antics, only to reregister.
  • Went to Libya during the fall of Qaddafi to act as a "journalist." Ended up as a combat medic for local insurgency forces after learning battlefield medical procedures from YouTube tutorials. He was even interviewed by NPR.
  • While in Libya, he provided sniper support, used his camera to both film events and zoom in on tangos, and racked up a wicked KDR. (yep that's actual combat footage)
  • After returning from Libya, he decided to do it all over again in Syria. He was apprehended by the Assad regime sometime after crossing over from Turkey. He was placed on the FBI's Kidnappings and Missing Persons List in June 2013.
  • As of May 2014, it was reported that he was being held captive in Branch 215, a prison of the Syrian Military Intelligence Directorate. According to sources, he was half-starved and begging for death.
  • As of today, he's back home after three years abroad and hopefully getting the medical help he so desperately needs.

A guy named Dare, who spent ~$500 registering SA accounts to spam schizo bullshit, just released a 300 page manifesto about how SA, his ex-gf and feminists are conspiring to kill him, or something.

Examples of ways I've experienced group e-bullying.

-Direct death threats "Kill yourself, I'm going to break your ribs, You deserve to die, It was my car during your attempted murder"

-Denigrating comments "You have a small penis, Your girlfriend is having sex with a black man and cucking you, you are a cuck, You are disgusting, you should kill yourself you are pathetic."

-Official broadcast - "Real name here- do not post on this forum anymore you are a bad person!"

-Insinuation of conspiracy - "this is not real you are a crazy people do not gang-stalk others on the internet"

-turning them into a meme - "Rapist Dare Sexuality on tumblr"

-racism -"anti Semitic propaganda that denies the holocaust with comments about my nose or my mother"

As much as I consider Something Awful a lolcow hive and in many way the originator of many modern day cows, and as much as I consider Lowtax a massive lolcow in his own right, I'm not going to slag off on the man for being proud he brought a child into the world, nice to see he has some innate decency.

More info? I've seldom even thought of SA in the past 7-8 years or so, but I still somewhat care/think about Lowtax, if only because he did the Troll 2 Rifftrax with Mike Nelson.
