They have every right to express a stupid opinion and that doesn't mean terrorists are allowed to just murder them at will. They were doing absolutely nothing violent that would justify any kind of response beyond a counter-protest, if that.

In fact, I believe nearly every single act of violence by Proud Boys, at least that I can remember, was a direct response to antifags attacking them first, but they got prosecuted and the antifags got let off scot-free. Maybe there's an exception, but I missed it.

Whatever their views, and I generally don't agree with much they say, they have been vilified completely unfairly as some kind of violent white supremacist gang, when a single picture of any of their gatherings shows they are nothing of the sort. I don't like being fucking lied to by the fake news, and PB have definitely been the target of that, and shootings like this are the fruits of that dishonest smear campaign.

The problem with this scenario is you discount the federal funding that allows the bloated to remain in place.

Why would they want to, though? There's a reason "white flight" is a thing, except it isn't always just white flight. It's "anyone with any assets to protect whatsoever" flight. You end up with a city full of nobody but the people who couldn't afford to leave.
