The FBI determined that larger caliber pistols were not as effective as smaller caliber pistols because it took close to the same amount of rounds to take down an assailant. Among other reasons.

They did use the MP5 10mm variant and they were practically H&K's sole customer for that variant. There are third party kits that can rechamber an MP5 for 10mm but nobody is interested in using them. H&K is opposed to making any 10mm weapons now and their social media persona will just flame you if you recommend it.

Besides, 9mm has gotten really good now.

I'm not sure it was ever NOT good, honestly. There's a reason the Germans adopted it for military use 100+ years ago and have kept it to this day.

I think there was resistance to it in the same way there was major resistance to adopting an intermediate cartridge in the US military - .45 and 30-06 was seen as what a "real man" uses, regardless of its actual ballistic necessity.

Pretty much every issued 10mm handgun self destructs over an accelerated lifespan on 80’s tier loadings. Especially the sheet metal roller locked MP5’s.

Can we please now move on from the arfcom tier gun debates? Modern 9mm is perfectly fine, and two holes are always better than one. I’ll stick with 124gr +P gold dots or 147gr HST depending on which gun I’m carrying.

A lot of automatic pistol cartilages back then weren't very powerful. 9mm just stood out but your average 9mm pistol during the interwar period didn't hold much more than a M1911 so there wasn't an incentive for the US to make a switch before the war and after producing a six digit surplus of M1911s during WW2, they weren't going to make the change then.

The FBI didn't abandon 9mm because it didn't do enough damage. They ditched it because one of the Miami shooters took a 9mm to the right armpit behind his armor and the bullet was 2-3 inches short of hitting his heart. The autists at the department latched onto that 1 bullet out of hundreds fired that day and decided to rebuild their firearm policy around it.

The early 10mm pistols weren't that great and were really expensive (Bren 10 and Colt Delta Elite.) They used single stack magazines that couldn't hold very many bullets. As mentioned before, females and bitch made men at the bureau complained to no end, so the .40 s&w was developed as a compromise.

Modern 10mm pistols are a lot different. The glock 20 holds 15 rounds of 10mm where the glock 17 only holds 2 more shots of 9mm. Polymer framed pistols allow the weapon to flex, so 10mm pistols aren't cracking slides and frames every 600 rounds like it used to. .40 s&w is now dying in the police and civilian market because it's too snappy in the hand without offering significant power increases over modern 9mm. The only people that use 10mm today are parks and forestry police and ballistic nerds. With a 200gr+ hardcast lead bullet, 10mm can penetrate a brown bear's skull, so it's a popular backup for people that have to deal with bears. I wanna say the majority of 10mm's sold end up in Alaska.

It wasn't at an anti-vaxx protest--the Proud Boys were acting as human shields between Antifa and Candace Mercer, a little old lady running for city councilor. Antifa decided she was a Nazi because she's going after the city's homeless problem. This was happening adjacent to the vaccine protest. Their Mercer stalking is probably really to prop up Taluana Reed, a crazy friend of Antifa also running for city council. It was an Olympia city hall dustup. Miguel Loftland planned all these incidents and he put Tiny on Antifa's "kill list." Assuming PinHead McPussyFace was even aiming for him.
