Only, like, every three years or so. I don't think they planned this one, so it is likely a 24-72 hour deal, though I'm hoping the goons cause enough trouble to irritate Lowtax and the mods so everything spirals. Also, they never listen to anyone in QCS, so this is somewhat new.
 
Found out today that the SA wordfilter changes "SJW" to "robocop" now. Not surprising seeing as they're basically a protected class now.

I'd have used "ghostbuster", myself though.
 
i don't hate lowtax but trotting out the "IM AN ADULT WITH CHILDREN STOP FUCKING WITH MEEEE" is getting pretty old. yeah okay there are things you'd rather be doing but this is part of your job, dealing with jerks. its part and parcel of the forum's nature.

you've ran SA for like a million years at some point you've gotta accept that the train will go off the rails from time to time. if you really want that quiet weekend then sell the site or delegate being admin to an employee or something. it feels like fishing for twitter sympathy like some teen girl
 
Lowtax doesn't fucking get that there's a difference between GBS 2000-2004 and GBS 2005-2011. Its not the same "old GBS," Lowtax, you have to specify. Given that he hasn't it means we're going to get the shitty one.

Lowtax doesn't give a fuck as long as he gets enough cash from the forum to avoid getting a real job. He was probably annoyed when the idea of hiding GBS was brought to him and told them to do whatever just stop bugging him.

If him getting fucked with was such a huge issue with his life he would just stop running SA entirely. It's just his strategy of getting people to feel bad for fucking with him when he should just expect it to be an off and on thing at this point.

This is the truth. Lowtax is Something Awful's absentee parent who occasionally checks on it a few times a year and lets the admins and mods shape it. This is why GBS has changed so drastically over the years. GBS is left under the control of admins and mods until they get tired of it, where it then goes to shit. Lowtax comes in, appoints new mods, and then goes away. Repeat forever.
 
I dont know why anyone cares about GBS being gone considering it had like 3 good threads that weren't just retards saying "suck my dick you fuckman" or "ask ur mom OP"

I'll never understand why he hands that site over to the biggest fucking weirdos you could find. Like why the fuck was Ozma running your supposed comedy forum for half a decade? Why was some power-hungry autist like Ralp given full control? Lowtax loves to blame the decline of his site on "forums dying in general" (which is not true) but most of the damage to SA has been self-inflicted.

GBS was low quality but it was pretty much the only place you could make jokes about things happening on the site. But if running more users off to other outlets and reducing revenue is the strategy, well done!

The problem is no potential new user wants to spend their time corresponding with goons. Goons embody every negative stereotype of the typical unsavory web dweller. Neckbeards, bronies, furfags, pedos, you name it and SA's got em in spades.

To pay to talk to a collection of misanthropes like that? Jesus.

SA has this bizarre idea that it's members are unique and that the forums are somehow "better than" anywhere else online. It flies in the face of the reality that many of its members also post on places which don't have the SA seal of approval.
