I liked the Cliff Yablonski character. Turns out that was just Low-T being himself though.

I doubt that... to some extent. I would have to check my phone's camera roll, but a couple months after Lowtax gave himself rapid-onset lead poisoning, someone on YouTube commented saying that they were Cliff Yablonsky and that they "missed you, buddy".

Now, I'm not sure how serious they are (probably not at all) but if that person really was Cliff Yablonsky, they couldn't have been Lowtax. Death has a funny way of silencing someone.

Anybody who attributes some specific salacious purpose to the creation of 4chan is retrospectively fantasizing just like Lowtax did. moot was a dumbass 15 year old who made a website on a whim and it happened to blow up. He has less dirt on him than our Dear Feeder.

That picture of the fat lady in lingerie and the caption was "The flesh plane has left the hangar" has never been far from my thoughts for almost 20 years.

I think Al (fatmouse) took over as Cliff at some point. Then he got banned and died of aids or something.

There was another goon, thatdog, who was very important for the creation of 4chan. He forked GazouBBS and Futaba to create Futallaby, which was the crappy piece of PHP software 4chan ran on (back before image replies were a thing).

The guy had a Donald Duck avatar on SA and liked to write about abandoned tram lines, if my memory serves me correctly.

Yeah, Paramesiac and a few others also did a lot of IRC politicing and funded some of it as well.

I also have fond memories of laughing at bad photos of insane losers with outrageously insulting captions.

I remember one of this super fat goth kid who rubbed fake blood on his face and the caption was "Unholy Potato" because his head was strangely potato shaped.

Actually irritates me that I no longer have a copy of that.

Didn't GazouBBS come out in... 1999, or 2000, or some year like that? Much before my time.

Futallaby was around 2003 to 2004, if I remember correctly. I think the source code for both is still available.

But I digress.
