I never heard that, personally. The opposite of truscum has always been, as far as I know, "tucute". And of course they'd use the word "cute" in their miserable trooning circlejerks.

For the average Goon, it also meant that all they had to do to go from the bottom of the progressive stack to the top was simply raid grandma's closet and insist on pronouns. No hormones needed to gain all the social benefits of being a tranny without the effort to actually pass.

You are so wrong, in 2005 they still had the porn torrent section I believe (Don't Post Porn Here / DPPH). Which you could only see if you were registered.

Troon was always a pejorative about trannies looking like average neckbeards in dresses. At no point were they ever anything but AGP hideous monsters.

A big part of SA's rise was its guaranteed access to the best ran and moderated Warez, mp3, porn torrent sites. That continued for years till Lowtax decided it was more trouble than its worth and kicked them all off.

No, troon was what trans goons were called until some of them decided it was a pejorative and basically made it a verboten word on the forums. (they were indeed disgusting though)
 
I remember the first tranny on SA was FYAD regular dans, who was the opposite of the modern tranny. Dude just wanted to wear a chick's star fleet uniform and never cried about being called a fag or weirdo. He was also a really good level designer for Doom and Unreal tourney maps

It was, but it was in the same way "goon" mean a fat greasy neckbeard but SA posters used it often to refer to each other and themselves- it was self depreciating humor. Basically a bunch of black guys calling each other nigger.

It also got transferred over here when someone, I think @Internet War Criminal, started popularizing it and it fairly rapidly became adopted as a derogatory term.

I was a SA member from 99, I know what I'm talking about. Half the terminology started on irc and migrated to the forums. SA was always the hub of a large network of stuff that averaged out to the SA culture, which Lowtax always hated since the time when Al and Rainbow Bright were running the forums behind his back and he couldn't lazily control everything.

I remember the DPPH and drama but it was just a general porn torrent forum with all that entails. The Anime Tenacle Rape forum, or whatever it was called, caused the big problem with the loli bullshit or it’s members were spreading the loli problem on the site. (DPPH also got nuked in a blaze of glory I don’t recall the details behind) It might have gone up in the whole torrent forum nuke due to copyright and pirating issues that were flying back then, and taking down websites in its wake as a result.

ADTRW banning lolis led directly to 4chan being created, so in a way one can thank that happening as the reason why imageboards became popular in the west.

A lot of those guys just spammed FYAD with loli shit to make fun of Corsair and Nikki Fishsticks who would get super worked up about anime in FYAD. It got bad when ADTRW guys started winning ik contests consistently and all the FYAD guys started bitching to lowtax on AIM about how they kept getting run out of their own forum by dudes they were trying to make fun of. Lowtax mass banned ADTRW guys with negative post counts because they were making his friends sad. FYAD dudes always had thin skin

Yeah it was funny to see SJWs and allies of alphabet people treat truscum/true scum and tucute/too cute as legitimate technical medical terms when it was a bunch of dudes in dresses coming up with quirky names for themselves and their haydurs. Same goes for cis.

It’s never too surprising that some of the shittiest internet trends originated from SA, directly or indirectly.
