So it's either my professors are incorrect, or that the PEO is spineless.
It's annoying too, since in order to become an engineer, you must be of good and moral character. If this jeet can use the term "engineer" while shilling for produces (which boosts the credibility of said products since an "engineer" supports it), that's the antithesis of moral as he's using a stolen title to make money.
Now, this is in a different country but:
One of the "Stop Cars" faggots (googles) Charles Marohn aka Strong Towns got in trouble for misrepresenting himself as an engineer when he had let his license lapse (due to discovering jacking it to bicycle shorts was easier and more lucrative than doing actual work) and when he was still licensed he also misrepresented himself as a traffic engineer and civil engineer instead of a municipal one.
He did not face criminal charges but was sanctioned by the MN engineering board and fined, then sobbed about muh first amendment and how mean civil engineers are.
I can walk around saying "As an Engineer I..." and be completely fine, but if I try to peddle my services by saying I'm engineer with a license I don't have, then I'm in trouble. I have seen lots of job offers for computer janitors that pitch the title as "Support Engineer" - and its kosher so long as you don't try to say you are a licensed professional engineer.
Marohn's issue was he didn't just call himself an engineer but represented himself as a PROFESSIONAL engineer (and a specific type of engineer that he wasn't), and that's are wholly different things. And he knew exactly what he wsa doing because he never outright said he was a traffic engineer, but would talk about being an engineer and how traffic was an "engineering problem". He skirted right up to the line because he knew exactly where and what it was. But the MN Engineers org still sanctioned him for it because they could see what he was doing.
If I AM a licensed engineer and say I'm a different sort of engineer than I am or otherwise misrespent my credentials, I am liable to sanction and possibly having my license pulled.
So from what I gathered from this jeet is while he said he was an "engineer at intel" he didn't profess to be a specific sort of engineer, never claimed to hold licenses or certifications he didn't have, so the PEO is making the regrettably right call here.
Though I would think the PEO if it wasn't cucked might issues a C&D to Muta requiring him to be more clear about his lack of credentialed status.
