Seemingly it all goes full circle back to:
The people mad at Mutahar aren't the same people who watch him regularly. The people spamming his comments weren't the same people who watch him regularly.
I'll bet money that a decent amount of his Youtube fans either don't know about the controversy or haven't even watched Nikandros's video. Waiting a week for the initial shock to die down and explaining as little as possible is a smart strategy for a Youtuber that makes content for an audience that only watches an endless stream of constant drama slop information being fed into their brain. He even took ownership of the "engineer" spam by using it as his segue into his response and then repeating it with emphasis throughout the video.
The rest of the controversy is either cringe clips from 11 years ago (the "you guys are like my family" clip) or clips of him running his mouth on livestreams and saying dumb shit. The new big thing against Muta that Nikandros/WestJett/Harmful Opinions have is a 20 second clip of him telling a story about having a gay makeout session offhandedly in some livestream. That's hilarious but I doubt it's going to stick long in the minds of his fans or the wider normie internet. Most people just won't give a shit.
Looking at Socialblade, this guy lost more subscribers (20k) from the whole Nuxtaku gooner drama last year than he did from this whole debacle (10k) out of a whopping 3.58 million.
