Doesn't Texas have fewer taxes or something?
Content creators usually seem to go to LA and Texas for the connections and networking. I wonder if he is going to go back and forth, because (at least right now, who knows when Trump gets in) but Canadians and Americans can both spend up to half a year (and it doesn't have to be consecutive, do a month here, 3 days there, it's fine.) without a VISA. Also Canadians working abroad don't have to pay taxes to Canada that year.
I'll try to explain. I believe there's three reasons for Mutahar's desire to move.
I'm not a tax expert or a CPA, but just some retard with muh internet powers. If I'm wrong, shit happens, sorry.
Texas is known for bring one of the "no state income tax" states, but it also does lack of a corporate income tax.

He currently is a co-owner of a (not-well received, youtuber-funded) skincare company.
OneUp and Mutahar affiliation
The lack of a corporate income tax in Texas means he is not taxed on his business earning other than the federal 21%.

I'm not sure about Canadian taxes, but I believe he doesn't qualify for the federal tax rebatement.
I think he may qualify for the general tax reduction, which is 13%. This brings his corporate income tax rate to 25%.
There's also the US healthcare industry.
His wife (at the time of the clip, girlfriend) is also a nurse.

Toronto area nurses median rate is $40 CAD/hour ($27.87 USD) with an income tax rate of %29.65.

Texas (Dallas, Fort-worth, Arlington area) seem to make $45 USD/hour ($64.58 CAD), and joint filing exists in US.

Assuming Mutahar makes more than $246,752 CAD (171943.70 USD), he pays a federal 33% income tax in addition to Ontario's 13.16% income tax. The biggest tax bracket.

Mutahar (just himself, and not his wife who is a registered nurse) pays 46.16% of his income to Mr. Maple FED. This is obviously excluding any possible exemptions, credits, etc.

If we combine Muta's income with his wife's assuming a combination of a median nursing income and Muta making above 200k USD, we can see the possible tax scenarios for both of them.
Slightly Outdated Source
I believe Muta makes a lot of money, so I am gonna assume the above $624,150 tax bracket.
(164,709.50/624,150) x 100 = %26.4, and rest is taxed at 37%. This is also excluding any additional tax exemptions.
On paper, it's a complete immigration victory for him.
His income tax for his first ~600,000 is cut in half, and he still pays a lower income tax on anything going forward.
His wife's salary is multiplied by three.
He retains 4% more of his income from his corporate ventures.
Thanks for listening to my schizo rant.
