Given that years ago he ruined a one-person game/ARG project by calling it a virus when it wasn't one, then chucked the shits when the game's creator DMCA'd his download link (to ensure ppl got the most up-to-date one as he would add/take away features and fix bugs)? I am not surprised this is happening nowadays.

I had the wonderful Blue Screen of Death for a solid month after Filmora9 updated to FilmoraX. Wound up reinstalling Windows. That was a good 3-4 years ago. I'm sure it's gotten much worse since then. If you see an influencer/YouTuber promoting software of any kind, just assume it's malware.
