I'm very pleased that people know about the injustice of the Internment camps and the betrayal of the high-minded ideals of the US, but this point doesn't hold true. The Nisei got reparations.

Yeah, it's all about getting on board with a sexy cause, and right now, black is the new black. People with very little meaning to their lives jump on bandwagons to feel good about themselves. But these are the same people who do nothing to actually solve problems. They just post Huffington Post articles to Facebook and jerk each other off.

there's a difference between the transatlantic slave trade/chattel slavery and intracontinental slavery.

without too much of a history lesson, slavery still exists in the modern world. this exists because international banks will loan money to a struggling country and make it impossible to pay back, leaving that country in poverty. or they'll give it to a corrupt leader (congo being a case study) who runs away with it and still expects the country to pay it back.

what the average sjw does not realize is that reparations aint shit but a bandaid when there's real shit outside the US (which we also contribute to) that doesnt get attention.

and they ignore that african slaves were sold BY AFRICANS to other place where the majority isn't white

And I'm glad they did. I'm just asking... Why not show support for crimes against the still-living? I'd rather see people raise "awareness" over that any day.

I don't know any SJWs personally so I hear very little about reparations for US chattel slavery, but I follow George Takei, and he mentions the Internment often on his social media accounts.

Just because it's the way things are doesn't make it okay, but reparations for blacks in the US will never happen.

There are too many people that could feasibly be owed money, and too many people who would owe them money. Furthermore, would some people be exempt due to income? Why should a welder at a VW plant in Alabama descended from a plantation owner owe money to an NBA basketball player descended from slaves? What about people of mixed race?

During reconstruction, the US had one good shot at reparations. "40 Acres and Mule" was an early attempt at reparations where many with a grievance and many who were culpable were still alive, but that never went anywhere.

The worst part is that modern day slavery is still a real thing that goes on. Something like 20 million victims as of 2014.

We should be fighting to stop that, not get upset at each other because of the history of our lineage.

And he's also not an especially effective jurist. Granted, I'm not really big into what passes for conservative legal theory after Citizens United and obliteration of the Voting Rights Act. How do they square his blackness with their hatred for what he is? Do they call him uncle tom, house n%%%%r?

I watched in horror as it demolished everything I had brought with me, including my tent and food. I triggered from it as heteronormatively as I could, but I still heard the problematic thud of the thing running after me. I got an idea - I reached into my pocket and grabbed my internalized racism. I threw it at the monster, and it hit one of its vulvas (DOES NOT MEAN IT'S A WOMAN. GENDERS ARE NOT DETERMINED BY GENITALS) . While it fat-shamed in pain, I hid behind a Gamergate. After a few minutes of silence, I looked over my shoulder. I sighed with relief and headed back to wymyn-only space where I knew things would be normal.

A War Story

It was 2015, I was a trans-binary foxgender otherkin for the tucute army. We were about to objectify out for the battle that came to be known as the intersectional kyriarchy of wymyn-only space. We checked my privilege to our catcalling microaggressions, and were culturally appropriated after (numbers are ableist) hours of gender-policing. We had to be toxic, and sexually invalidated behind problematic deathfats. autisticlatin@.tumblr.com, a Transethnic Transabled Latin@ Autismgender Genderqueer Woman of Color, lifted his internalized sexism and was hit by an enemy privileged shitlord. My transmisogynist privileged healthist shitlord fat-shamed, Health at Every Size and we all eye raped, marginalizing transmisogynists at them. A homonormative explosion went off in the distance, fetishizing people of color and transphobes everywhere. Rape culture demisexual godkin were slut-shamed, and we were starting to lose the trigger warning. Just when we thought it was all over, my whitesplainer called in a secret weapon : The LGBTQIA++ trans erasure. When it was male privileged onto our enemies, we could see multiple system transtrenders internalizing racism everywhere, and we could hear them call out, The only diagnosis I'll accept is GENDER EUPHORIA! and Gender is a social construct! We all oppressed, because we had won. All of the radfems belonged to us.
 
As has been brought up many times, SJWs are authoritarian and have a lot of similarities to the religious right. One of those things I was thinking of was the fact that the rate of rape has gone down, and a major explanation for this is more access to porn through the internet. I think of the anti-porn radfems as being similar to the "abstinence only education" folks (states that adopt abstinence only education have a markedly higher teen pregnancy rate), or "pro life" people who oppose birth control (birth control greatly reduces the abortion rate). In all cases, their desired policy has the effect of making the problems they're "trying" to solve worse. It's because they don't actually care about that problem. They're using it as a smokescreen to justify imposing their morality, because nobody would support their shit if they just straight up said they wanted to control people's behavior.

By Jove, I think you've got it. This really does unite what otherwise seems like perverse and purely stupid behavior on the part of authoritarians across the political spectrum.

I don't think they're necessarily consciously doing this, because few people are such mustache-twirling villains.

Another curious thing is people are entirely capable of seeing the ulterior motives of their political opponents like this. For instance, it is very common to see lefties criticize pro-lifers for just wanting to control women, and to see righties criticize SJWs for their similar authoritarianism. However, the same people are generally shielded by people on their own "side," even though in both cases, they're actively making problems worse that the mainstream of their "side" probably actually does want to solve.

A lot of these are problems the vast majority of everyone actually is interested in solving or at least mitigating. Often, the way of doing it is fairly obvious. Take your example, abortion. I think almost anyone but a few extremists would want there to be fewer abortions. Some might not agree with that specific term because of their side in the "debate" over the issue, but phrase it as "unwanted pregnancies," and nearly everyone would want to reduce that.

This isn't helped by the fact that they call themselves "tucutes", while they label people with actual gender dysphoria with the word "truscum". I just hate the pretentiousness dripping from this "tucute" movement.

Maybe it wasn't the intention, but doesn't "truscum" make it sound like an SJW knows and openly acknowledges that he/she/xe is faking gender dysphoria and is being transphobic towards people who actually have it? "Tucute" sounds to me like posing as something you aren't is "cute" and something we should look at with a collective "Aww". News flash: it doesn't work that way.
