Sorry for being offtopic, but a sociopath is an empathy-less manipulative bastard, while an autist lacks the manipulative part.

Sociopaths can be quite charming until the knife comes out and know how to play people. They just do not feel empathy themselves but understand it on other's parts.

Psychopaths also don't feel empathy but are often less intelligent and more emotional themselves.

Autists don't understand people and are usually emotional.

All three don't give a shit about anybody else than themselves, but its basically manipulative bastards, rage prone bastards and stupid bastards.

You are right that there is a lot of similarities. So if ya'll trigger them, this can happen:

Sociopath will smile and ignore the barb until it is convenient to stabbify you.
Psychopath yells at you and goes for stabbity stab.
Autist yells at you and produces :briefs: .

There are also the so-called lenient misanthropes, people who while may not express it, have disdain/fear for people in general, but tend to make exception for the people they know. This kind of people tends to be shy and well-spoken with people they don't know or know well, but once they open up to someone they tend to monopolize conversations and see everything only from their perspective. They don't do it out of malice, and don't tend to have inflated egos, but they often appear as innocently insensitive and selfish.

Met a few people like that

Ya found me out. Oy vey shut it down!

Low functioning sociopaths are rather pathetic. They have miserable lives and usually spend them behind bars.

High functioning sociopaths are terrifying. They often end up as President or some similar shit and make the entirety of humanity their bitches.

A lot of corporate higher ups tend to be this. If someone has "manager" in their title, empathy is not their strong suit. The business world is a world of sharks.

Posting this here, though it could also be posted in the "nice guys" thread:View attachment 378033
Yes, it's totally women's fault that you can't get laid. Not the fact that you act like a pompous dick and use the term "plebian" unironically after the fall of Ancient Greece.

"I am aware that many of you look up to me as a shining beacon of intellectual brilliance in a quagmire of stupidity"

Nobody thinks that.

"I am aware that many of you look up to me as a shining beacon of intellectual brilliance in a quagmire of stupidity"

I'll let Bender handle this.

I think I'm pretty stupid actually, I'm the opposite of a "smart guy". I don't know if it is a good or bad thing.

Hmm... A few people in this thread have said Mensa’s really elitist, but I looked up the subject some time ago and a bunch of members (and former members) said that the people in it are mostly ordinary and they’re just really good at puzzles or whatever. Some fit the stereotype of being total eggheads but the majority don’t. It makes sense. :powerlevel: my IQ is apparently pretty high but I’m a total dunce in terms of actual knowledge and I’m gonna treat myself/expect to be treated as such. :powerlevel:

That being said, I love this thread. It’s quality entertainment.
just like rick and morty, ladies

There was one chick who I knew who fit perfectly into the role of the smart guy. She was a total tryhard, she acted like she was the smartest in the class all the time (when in reality she was a total retard), thesauraus abused in all of her essays, and somehow graduated from my high school early.

She was such an annoying prick, I was so glad to see her gone.

you really ought to be ashamed of yourself for this post

This was posted before but it has a place here.
Woman gets on man's case about him using food stamps and brags about her college degree. Lady, if you're so smart, why are you shopping at Wal Mart and not Whole Foods or wherever rich people shop? For all you know, the guy was probably financially stable before something went wrong.
Lots of "smart guys" in the comments, have fun with that.

The smartass seems to forget that the Spain of the time was somewhat of an unified country. Italy wasn't: it was divided in several counties, kingdoms and ducates. That's why Columbus went to Spain to get funds for his expeditions to Indies: it was much more stable and richer.
Also, geographical positions. Spain is much more "forwarded" towards the Americas than Africa. Unified Italy started his colonial adventures much later, a bit like Germany ( in late 19th Century) and towards North Africa and Eastern Europe. Nowadays, if you go in places like Libya, Ethiopia, Lebanon and Albania, you can hear a lot of people speaking Italian.

I mean, not to mention that Spain and her colonies were basically theocratic hellholes, and the Americas are literally named after an Italian explorer.

the internet taught me that smart people are, without fail, constantly bored. boredom is what unites truly enlightened and powerful minds... *yawn* this is all so very droll.

As somebody with a high IQ who skipped first grade and would have skipped the third had my parents not decided to hold me back the one thing you literally had to learn was, like here, hide your powerlevel. You could very well be the smartest kid in the class. Don't show it.

You are forced to learn the art of camouflage. If you're successful you become the chameleon and you're able to fit in just about anywhere by simply observing and following the unwritten rules. Those that don't learn this critical skill wind up the malcontents that feel the need to shout their greatness because it's the only success they have in their lives. You want to impress somebody with how smart you are? Do something with it. Apply it. Become the guy that people go to when they have a problem because you'll be able to figure it out. Don't sit in your room playing vidya and watching Rick & Morty and thinking that everybody else is so stupid compared to you. They're living their lives, you're the one hiding from it.

Besides Stephen Hawking said it best. Those that brag about their IQ scores are losers.

I skipped all the grades, and my IQ is 68000.

Edit: I have been informed that 68000 is just the number printed on the motorola CPU inside of my sleek case. I am sorry.
