Jokes on you, I'm stupid and have no friendsAround here, we call that "The Smartest Guy in the Room Syndrome", and you can spot them on account of they don't have any friends.
Especially if they're child molesting pedophiles who get their IQ scores from clickbait quizzes they have to retake to get a score of 124?Those that brag about their IQ scores are losers.
And of course there's the old classic: "wise guy."Around here, we call that "The Smartest Guy in the Room Syndrome"
This was posted before but it has a place here.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=C_HgNzgjdRMWoman gets on man's case about him using food stamps and brags about her college degree. Lady, if you're so smart, why are you shopping at Wal Mart and not Whole Foods or wherever rich people shop? For all you know, the guy was probably financially stable before something went wrong.
Lots of "smart guys" in the comments, have fun with that.
The smartass seems to forget that the Spain of the time was somewhat of an unified country. Italy wasn't: it was divided in several counties, kingdoms and ducates. That's why Columbus went to Spain to get funds for his expeditions to Indies: it was much more stable and richer.
Also, geographical positions. Spain is much more "forwarded" towards the Americas than Africa. Unified Italy started his colonial adventures much later, a bit like Germany ( in late 19th Century) and towards North Africa and Eastern Europe. Nowadays, if you go in places like Libya, Ethiopia, Lebanon and Albania, you can hear a lot of people speaking Italian.

As somebody with a high IQ
Stopped reading after the first 6 wordsAs somebody with a high IQ who skipped first grade and would have skipped the third had my parents not decided to hold me back the one thing you literally had to learn was, like here, hide your powerlevel. You could very well be the smartest kid in the class. Don't show it.
You are forced to learn the art of camouflage. If you're successful you become the chameleon and you're able to fit in just about anywhere by simply observing and following the unwritten rules. Those that don't learn this critical skill wind up the malcontents that feel the need to shout their greatness because it's the only success they have in their lives. You want to impress somebody with how smart you are? Do something with it. Apply it. Become the guy that people go to when they have a problem because you'll be able to figure it out. Don't sit in your room playing vidya and watching Rick & Morty and thinking that everybody else is so stupid compared to you. They're living their lives, you're the one hiding from it.
Besides Stephen Hawking said it best. Those that brag about their IQ scores are losers.
tbf though is he really actually that smart? I mean, he's probably smarter than me, definitely more motivated, but come on now, if he were Asian, he would be a nobody. the affirmative-action regard gave him the same unbearable smugness that began to afflict Obama once he settled into the presidencyNow that this thread has gotten rolling, it's time to introduce the patron saint of Smart Guys: Neil deGrasse Tyson. To be fair, he's an astrophysicist so he is actually smart, but he's also a complete tool.

That's nice.Stopped reading after the first 6 words
Incidentally - and take this with a pinch of salt because I cannot remember the source for this little anecdote - I read about one person retelling their initiation into Mensa, basically doing the paid paper test at one of their gatherings and getting a high enough score to qualify as a member.
They soon discovered that the restricted Internet forums for these people harbored some of the most despicable cunts he'd ever seen. Reason being that when you take a bunch of people who think they're smarter than everyone else and put them into a restricted area where no dummies can enter, they start thinking in a very circular way that they are always right and everyone outside their peers is terribly wrong.
So the forums were naturally a hotspot for conspiracy theorists. That Mensa membership got discarded quite fast after that out of fear of becoming just as delusional.
It's certainly consistent with some folk saying that smart people have an easier time believing stupid shit because they're intelligent enough to find plausible arguments to themselves that they're right, no matter what the evidence says.
Did he kill himself or did someone do it for him?A deeply regretful man posted a letter his 8th grade self wrote to his college self. It's cringey as fuck but the comments are hilarious.

An artist and a philosopher said:A few hours ago I have sent this message to MrMLGAdam if even one person who reads it here gains something from it, then I'm already happy, which I already am anyway because I actually wrote this, and it amazed me(this is version 1.1, it has some small added stuff compared to the original) I posted this under an anonymous account as I just want to see what happens when I post this first and I hope I blanked out any personal stuff as you know how reddit/the world can be sometimes
Good day /u/MrMLGAdam
I have no idea what you might think of this, but judging from your reddit posts I was wondering if you might understand what I'm trying to say here.
my name is (name), I am turning 26 next week, I'm (nationality), I'm an artist and a philosopher. And I have no idea what I'm doing with my life, but I'm wondering about what I can do instead of what I can't do.
When I was 7 my IQ got tested and it turned out to be high enough, which was proven again when I was 14ish. However the world around me couldn't understand and help me so it took me until the age of 25, a failed study in architecture and 2,5 years of therapy to finally get out of the depression I was in for over 10 years, starting before the age of 10, because of how I saw all the sadness and misery in the world around me, being highly intelligent and hyper sensitive leading me to understand my bullies before they even bullied me. Thus I didn't want to do anything to anyone and took it all because I didn't want to cause them more harm. However after finally being able to develop and discover myself through an organisation called (organisation), I learned that the 2,5 years I spend in therapy as well as all the time I was bored at school or wherever in life, I have learned how to handle people's depressions and fears when I am feeling happy myself in a very unique and interesting way, out of pure need to survive in order to fix my parents marriage which they hadn't been able to for over 30 years and no therapist ever managed to be able to help them.
I did this by asking people to question themselves and giving them perspective on where they are, if it makes them happy, and if not how can they find out what makes them happy.
I ask them how things make them feel, and if they express these feelings towards others in a form of for example "hello, I am (name) and I am scared of writing this big wall of text as I am not sure if you will even read this, even be able to understand it, or even like it at all or if you just think I am crazy."
I give them the question if they want to live a life where they must do things, or to live a life where they do the things they want to do. Which is what I see in so many gamers, they were all looking for a world to escape from reality, a world where they could do what they want, develop their mind freely. I try to teach them how to find solutions to problems that do not focus on the differences between different sides, but on how to find a solution that makes everyone happy, that unites people.(My answer for now is by showing them how to forge their own path that could lead to a better future opposed to the current pre-made path they are taking that lead down dark and painful paths)
And I have seen so many great minds hidden underneath all the rubble in protected bunkers. And I give them the choice between the blue pill and the red pill. Stay where they are, happy and content, or learn how to be happy, take care of themselves, and through that make other people happy and maybe even have some of them learn it as well and so on and so on. Thus achieving even greater happiness.
So I was wondering, and I always have, what could I do for E-Sports and the great and marvellous people in it?
People who are just trying to make a living doing what they want. Not caring about nationality or ethnicity or where you were from or if you are rich of poor. These people seem to care whether you are a nice guy or not. And if you aren't, they will try to help you to become one.
But I still see so many people struggling with it. Not being accepted by their parents, their home, their friends and so on.
And I am wondering if I have learned how to give people the tools they need to handle their situation and find solutions that makes them, as well as everyone else happy. So my question for you is: do you know of a way that this skill of mine could benefit the (e-sports) world?
I started doing this by setting up group for gamers in (organisation), through which I managed to reach quite a lot of people so far And it hopefully will continue to slowly grow over time naturally in a good way(unlike religion for example which had a good foundation, but rotten cheap buildings build on top of it and then having people wonder why the house didn't last through a storm)
I currently have a disability welfare because I have a bunch of disorders like a generalised anxiety disorder, a dysthymic disorder sometimes, maybe dyspraxia and a bunch of other stuff
And whenever I must do something that I don't want I shut down mentally and it also manifests physically with spasms and the likes. As people telling me how I must live is what I have been doing/experiencing for most of my life which lead to me developing physical and mental manifestations of stress and depression so now I can literally only do what I want.
So I'd like to find out if there is anything I want to do, that could help you as well as the (e-sports) world as a whole, by being a kind of make shift mental supporter/backup or a philosopher that can bring about positive change whenever I'm feeling good, to help the people who are feeling like shit, maybe by joining them in that bottomless dark pit of hell that they fall into when they get depressed. By helping them deal with their home situation and life, and the transition from doing what they were always told and must do, to what they actually want to do(i.e. switch from education to being a gamer) or maybe by talking to you about ideas like this I don't know if I can do this, but I do not know until I try, and I don't see how I have anything to lose as long as I listen to my own gut feeling and state my borders.
From what I saw on how you managed the speed gaming event for example, I suspect you at least have some decent knowledge on people and are trying to bring happiness to the world as well in whatever way you can, so yeah...
If you got to this point I thank you for taking your time to read this. Even if it doesn't lead to anything, if just reading this taught you something good then I am already happy that I wrote this. And it also taught me some things about myself again. with kind regards,
my contact details are in the PM I send to MrMLGAdam
