i dont wanna run a 100+ foot long cable
I mean, technically you could run a 100+ foot fiber optic cable and have it connect two switches. That way you'd get 10G connectivity between the two and could wire up your crap with Ethernet a bit easier.
I like wifi because i can blame it and not middle age for why i suck at video games now
Technically I could get an Intel ax/be NIC and hook it up to my PC, either in the last free M.2 slot or one of the two free PCIe slots with an adapter, but at the same time, meh, the PC is right next to the router so there's no point. Unless it's for better Bluetooth, but I'd rather have it go in tandem with a more robust NIC, maybe something with SFP+.

Copper Cat6 or 6a works fine for 10G at those distances. Even with power limited copper SFPs in your switches.

But at those lengths fiber will be easier and cheaper to pull off, pulling one thin glass tube instead of one thick package of pricey copper wrapped in rubber. Of course assuming you'll be able to perfectly pull a premade 100+ foot long fiber cable, since if you're planning on cutting it to size then hoo boy.

Bothering with fiber at these short distances is retarded. I get you’re a faggy zoomer who wants to feel like a hacker, but for the normies in here: no, you don’t need fiber in your house.

Okay I should've checked what that is in non-fetishist (normal) units first. Yeah 30 meters is still within copper range, albeit a bit unwieldy. Still, depending on how you want to run it and where a thin fiber cable could be the better option. It's thinner and more discrete, cheaper per meter, but at the same time more delicate, waaaay more expensive if you're planning to cut it to length, and requires dedicated SFP+ inserts and SFP+ devices (SFP+ assuming you want to utilize that 10G of bandwidth).

You definitely want to use fiber in your house if you want to connect your garage, garden shed or other remote building to your home network. Again, cheaper, thinner, and you don't have to worry about moisture or corrosion unlike with copper wiring.

Wtf are you doing in your garage that warrants a hardline? Just setup a wireless repeater.

wireless repeater
Yes, create more problems for yourself by shitting all over the ether. Look, maybe someone wants to keep their servers, or spare ones running in their garage. Setting up a hardline would be way better, and if we're talking about just having an extra access point you're better off using Powerline adapter instead of repeaters. Chances are that'll be more stable and faster than doing what's essentially eating the traffic, vomiting it out, eating the vomit and vomiting it again, while leaving a massive piss stain around. Because that's a very generous way to describe how dogshit WiFi repeaters work.

How many holes am I putting in the drywall? Not all if us live in Slavjank land where things looking like a fire hazard is acceptable

I don’t know what dumb shit you’ve been reading, but wireless repeaters are literally just access points that communicate up through Wi-Fi rather than through Ethernet and use the same SSID. If you need to expand a Wi-Fi network and don’t want to pull cable, they are completely fine. How the device behaves is dependent on software. Various wireless products like ‘mesh’ and ‘repeaters’ and other things are just APs using different software strategies. If you know what you’re doing, you can set these up to work very reliably just like how any decent Wi-Fi router out of the box will be very reliable these days.

The fact you mention ‘servers’ in plural just reveals you’re a fucking sperg. I don’t care about your massive porn stores but most people have one server at the most. An uninsulated garage is a terrible place to be putting equipment anyway.

The US doing economic planning and outright picking national champions is an actual nightmare scenario for a lot of the world. This is the sort of thing that the Japanese used to have emergency closed-room meetings about back in the 80s and I imagine there might be similar things happening in Korea, Taiwan, and China right now.

Xi Jinping has to be baffled and probably a little nervous because this is the kind of shit that's simply not in his playbook for dealing with the Americans. This is something he was probably told would never possibly occur and now he has to figure out how to actually deal with it.
AMD and all the chinky nations are shitting bricks. If Intel gets back up, and gets back to where it was in the 14nm era, they are turbo fucked. The nationalization needed to fucking happen.
Here in Slavland we have these fancy things called channels. You run the cables through hoses built into the wall itself.
If your wall doesn't have that leading out to the garage, you have to drill a hole. Not a fun time.

So, anyone who wants to pull a copper cable is a fucking sperg with massive porn stores because they could just use a wireless repeater? Am I getting this right? Calm down before you pop a blood vessel over network cabling.

Just admit that you're too lazy to do any housework and putting a single hole into the drywall is too much work for you. That, or you live in a totalitarian shithole like the UK where you need a loicense to change your doorknob just so that the gubmint can verify the color that you've chose is accepted by them.

This isn't "Slav Power Hate Thread" so I don't exactly see why you have to make this about me. Again, you should calm down and stop taking house wiring so seriously.
You made it about yourself when you started shitting on a perfectly fine technology when you don’t even know how that technology works.

No, you made it about me because you forgot that you're not on /g/ and turning a discussion about house wiring into a rabid personal spat makes you look like a gigantic faggot.
You open yourself up to proper ridicule when you reveal yourself to be a wannabe homelab sped who doesn’t actually know how the tech your shitting on works. That’s called being a poser and I will shit on you for that and call you a pornsick Slav nigger as much as I want even if one of those two things turns out to not be true because this isn’t your safe space faggot. Grow thicker skin.

All I'm saying is that you've spent an entire page in a thread about technology, in a board about technology, talking about me and how much you have a problem with me over what I said. It's not that I don't have thick skin, it's that I'm subtly hinting that you're going full retard and making yourself look like a tremendous faggot by doing this shit.

Everyone here already knows I'm a tremendous faggot and a retard.
