Well after using up both of my good ipsy bag face creams, I decided to try something new.
I ordered the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Charcoal mask, since I had tried it before, and I love both the smell and the result. That got me browsing Elizavecca products (so cheap! so cute!) and I landed on Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell-Pore EGF Special Ampoule.
3 drops takes care of my whole face. My skin is so moisturized and hella fuckin soft. I used both last night and this morning my face was like the ass of Baby Jesus.
I just hope it lasts. Supposed to help with acne scarring and hyperpigmentation - if it really does that too then I think I'll just fall to my knees and weep tears of joy.

Im almost done with my hyaluronic acid from Elizavecca, I’m considering that special ampoule one I think, is it the purple one?
And I remember that carbonated mask! Was fun but a bit hard to get the residue off

I'm not from the US and am living under 100+ degree heat every single day. I'm a sweaty oily fuck but my skin gets very dry in environments with low humidity (e.g air conditioning) or after showering. A lot of drugstore goods are imported goods which are expensive as shit so I end up with a limited variety of products, and local ones are either sketchy mainland Chinese chemicals or have next to no effect.
Hormonal rage caused teenage me to switch between brands on the regular, but after that I remained loyal to only two products:
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - Been using this one since I was 14 or 15. It really keeps my face soft and fresh after a long day.
Hada Labo Gokujyun Light Hydrating Lotion - Never waste this. I'd honestly root for Hada Labo when it comes to moisturizers and toners.
Unfortunately, I'm running out of those products so until I bought a new stock, I'm settling with these ones:
Boryeong mud soap - Got this from an aunt, I still have boxes of these. I'd say it is off-brand since it's not a popular K-beauty brand but they're not lying about the effectiveness either. It relieved my breakouts and clears out some blemishes at one point. Active ingredients are mostly minerals so I hardly get any bad reaction out of it.
Skintelligence Travel Kit - Another aunt gave it to me. I'm very convinced this is some MLM off-brand just by reading the product description and bullshit reviews, but it's what I have and I have to finish it. Not very nice, I'll dispose this when no one is watching.
Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner
Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser
Hada Labo Gokujyun Hydrating Water Gel - This one came as a tiny sample with the hydrating lotion I bought. Really goes well, ngl.
Clean & Clear Deep Action Daily Pore Cleanser - or was it just Deep Action Cleanser? It was definitely a dark blue to white gradient packaging though iirc.
Clean & Clear Oil Control Film
Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Oil-infused Serum - Free sample. It fucking burns.
This one Korean moisturizer with a cute chibi mascot that I don't remember the name. Starts with J and is popular with the yellow and peach bottles and said chibi. I think it discontinued.
Honestly? I'm really bad at taking good care of my skin lmao but I eventually got my shit together by the time I left high school. I only wash and cleanse my face whenever I find a need to (cardinal sin, I know). Right now the main concern is my acne-ridden back, shoulders and chest. Any body soap or product y'all kiwis could recommend to this sweaty fig baby?

i fucking love hada labo!!! I'm about halfway through my Hada Labo Moist Toner right now, I hope to try their premium line soon (it has mineral oil, I think); it's kind of hard to buy it on Amazon because the milk and acid/lotion aren't really differentiated consistently, and of course they hike up the prices a bit.
Yellow and peach bottles?
Sorry, I won't be too much help with the body acne question : / My skin is normally just dry asf haha.
Anyone here have experience with Palmer's Eventone Fade Cream? I'm starting to use it on my hands because I haven't been great about putting sunscreen there and I think I'm starting to see some sun spots start to come in.
I have pores on my nose and my cheeks. I used to not have any issues, but for some reason when I became an adult (and well past my teen years), boom acne. I had to start the skincare routine.
My skin looks OK now save for the occasional zit, but those pores are still... larger than I would like.

also, Simple Water Boost Micellar Water changed their formula recently, and it has a smell now; it also broke me out a lot. Reading reviews online, I see others have noticed the same.
Anyone have a similar recommendation? That one was the best one for my sensitive skin; Garnier didn't work that well for me a while back

I have a rose water based toner, and a salicylic acid toner. I haven't used the rose water one lately, but I have been using the salicylic one to get dead skin and wrinkles off my face.
I have never used micellar water, is that a good thing to have?

I have not. Though, what I have tried was weird. A while back I bought some sort of "charcoal mask" stuff and it pretty much feels like wax on my face, it pulls out some whiteheads but also ALL of my mini facial hairs. It dries into something with the texture of plastic or rubber, I have never used it again. It made my pores worse, actually.

Doesn't look dull, but I kinda feel like COVID's made me a bit complacent with how I carry myself. Why would I bother pulling out all the stops if I'm not going getting hours at work or if I'm not able to actively go out with friends? I wanna get back into a 'routine' of sorts and I figure I have enough cash at the moment to 'invest' in something that's a step up from basic lotion, aftershave, and lip balm.
On the subjects of facial peels/washes, any good stuff you'd recommend? I've got more appropriate sunscreen than I'd care to admit because I thought I'd be going out more around this time.
The main thing you need to add is a face wash. The skin on the face is thinner and clogs more easily, so it's good to have a cleanser made for your face. Cetaphil gentle cleanser is a good one. I'd say part of your problem is attitude. Don't think that it's useless because you can't go out right now. Think of how nice it is to feel clean and healthy. I know this concept is really overdone and used by SJWs but consider it self care.
For peels/serums and other "extra stuff", which you don't need btw, I'd recommend anything high in niacinamide and a bakuchiol serum. Bakuchiol has the benefits of retinols without the side effects basically (like UV sensitivity). A good face sunscreen I will always recommend is Centella Green Level Sun Cream by Purito. It's a South Korean brand and sunscreens from South Korea, Japan, the UK and the EU typically have much better and more advanced formulations that are less disgusting to wear and just feel like a normal face cream. It's not waterproof, but good for everyday wear because really, you get UV damage everyday just from living a normal life.
Don't get sucked in by somethings' price. It's true for many things that you get what you pay for but cheaper drugstore skincare is usually made in the same facilities, by the same companies with the same ingredients; so buying expensive skincare is just paying a lot for markup.
Does anyone else in your family have large pores, if so it could just be genetic, not sure anything can fix that.
Patches of facial skin that have a citrus peel texture can be a sign of low thyroid hormones. If it's like that maybe have a doctor test for it, and check to see if any medications are interracting with thyroid function.
