That's incredible! Good for you for finding something that works.

How long of a time difference is there between the two pictures?
The before pics were taken in October 2016, and the last two were taken a couple days ago when I posted the message. ZenMed's been like, the only thing that's ever worked for me, so I've just been riding this high of like, oh thank god I don't look like a tomato monster anymore.

The problem with Rosascea is that it makes your skin so sensitive, that even products marketed for sensitive skin can cause damage sometimes, if it's bad enough. Zenmed actually matches their ingredients to the chemicals naturally found in skin, which I think may have made the difference. They're pricey but 100% worth it imo.

That being said, I am on birth control now and cut like, dairy and excess sugar out of my diet, which I think has also helped?? Idk. Does anyone else notice their diet affecting their skin?

So, I've replaced nearly my entire skincare regimen and this is the updated version:

AM-
  • Nourish Organics moisturizing cream cleanser (I'm a bit meh on this one, it's nice but super-runny and the packaging makes it easy to waste product)
  • Boscia White Tea oil-free moisturizer (I'm in love with this stuff, it's cooling when I first put it on and it keeps my skin matte for about eight hours, which is a Godsend in the humidity we get here in the South)
  • Julep No Excuses SPF 40 sunscreen gel
  • Skyn Iceland Under-Eye Illuminator (this has really been helping with my dark circles, plus it's got a fine, subtle shimmer to help conceal)

PM-
  • CLE Melting cleanser (another one I'm not sure if I'll repurchase or not, it's nice and removes all my eye makeup without making me feel like clawing my eyes out, but it's a tiny bit drying on my dry spots)
  • Nourish Organics Argan Face Serum

I don't always use a moisturizer over the serum at night, I feel like it's a bit much this time of year since it's so hot and the serum itself tends to just... sit there for a while before soaking in. But I may invest in other oils/serums when it starts getting cold again, something I can layer with a light moisturizer, maybe?

My biggest problem right now is, I have these two ugly eczema patches that just decided to make an appearance recently... They're not flaky, thankfully, but they're red and gross-looking and it's making me reconsider not wearing foundation anymore. I had hoped that my skin was improved enough that I could just leave it, and then this happened, and I don't know what to do at this point.

That being said, I am on birth control now and cut like, dairy and excess sugar out of my diet, which I think has also helped?? Idk. Does anyone else notice their diet affecting their skin?

Yes! Everything you put in your body affects the health of your skin. I noticed a big improvement in my skin when I started cutting stuff out in the interest of losing weight... Not sure what's going to happen when I start keto, though, we'll see.

Okay, so I work at night, which means my night and morning routines are switched.

Morning:

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser
Pixi Glow Tonic Toner (I used to use a different toner, but it was discontinued, so I'm giving this one a go, since @entropyseekswork speaks so highly of it.)
Differin Gel
Sunday Riley Good Genes
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum
Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil
Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair eye cream
Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream
Neutrogena Hydro Boost eye cream (I use it on my eyes and my lips)
Jack Black lip balm

Night:

First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay, which I use in the shower with a Foreo Luna
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum
Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturizer
Neutrogena Hydro Boost eye cream (on the lips)
Jack Black lip balm

If I get a pimple, I use Kate Somerville Eradikate acne treatment on it before I go to sleep.
I also like to use Kate Somerville Exfolikate exfoliating treatment if my skin feels a little rough.

For masks, I use GLAMGLOW Supermud, Thirstymud, and Youthmud. Probably the one I use the most regularly is Thirstymud, because it's basically like a really rich moisturizer, so if my skin is feeling dry, I'll put it on before I go to sleep.

I tried, recently, to do the double oil cleanse, but I got a rash on my neck and I'm pretty sure it was from the grape seed oil in the cleanser. I'm going to try again, after the rash is gone, with a cleanser that uses a different oil.

I used to have a lot of breakouts but now that I'm taking birth control they're a lot better now... except my nose is really oily.
I've tried using almond oil, tea tree oil, various moisturizers, my entire face will take it very well but my nose just won't.

It's really weird... Is there anything I need to remove or add?

Morning:
-Goodness Cream Cleanser
-The Ordinary Buffet Serum
-Swisse Argan Facial Moisturiser
-Biore Watery Essence sunscreen

Evening:
-ASAP Daily Cleanser with a cheap ebay copy of a Foreo Luna. I had a Clarisonic for years but the battery died and decided against replacing it for now.
-Skinsitut Toning Mist
-The Ordinary 10% Lactic Serum
-ASAP Eye Cream
-The Ordinary HA Serum
-Goodness Night Cream

I do sheet masks a few times a week, benonite clay once a week, Botox every 3 months, IPL facial once a month.

Morning:
Avene Eau Thermale Cleanance Gel (a little pricey but you only need a tiny bit, so one bottle will last forever)
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Evening:
Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter
Superdrug Vitamin E Serum
Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion, or Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter if my skin is especially dry

Misc:
Botanics Radiant Youth Microdermabrasion Polish as and when needed
Boots Ingredients Cleansing and Purifying Sheet Mask as and when needed
Aztec Healing Clay mixed with apple cider vinegar when I need to bring out the big guns

The camomile cleansing butter is the absolute shit. That plus a muslin cloth will leave your skin feeling ridiculously smooth and soft. Plus it's great for taking off makeup (though I'll use micellar water for waterproof mascara).

Every skin care product containing SPF that I've used so far just ends up leaving me greasy, and putting makeup on over the top is a bitch. I do tend to go for makeup that contains SPF though. Is that enough?

I realise that there is a girly things thread already. However, it's cluttered with all sorts of random stuff and difficult to filter through. It was also begun well-before the ladies and "ladies" of these great Farms had their own forum known as Beauty Palour.

For these reasons I decided to create this thread. ITT we can specifically discuss our skincare routines, soaps, cleaners, lotions, creams, masks, and scrubs. This will hopefully also have the added effect of making the forum hawter and increasing @Null's chance of finding a worthy mate.

So I will start by saying that I really love Innisfree right now and have been using their Jeju Seawater line. It really moisturises very well, especially during these dry winter months. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. However, I'd also like to add a Vitamin C serum or cream to my nighttime routine as I'm not sure it does much to actually slow or prevent aging.

I've also been trying out snake venom masks. I like the way I can't squint my eyes afterwards.

The Cheap Canadian Drugstore Combo. :powerlevel: I'm white :powerlevel:, so the sun is my sworn enemy, and SPF has made a huge difference.

Several people in this thread have mentioned using The Ordinary skincare. I read somewhere earlier this week that the brand is supposed to start selling at Sephora some time in the future.

Speaking of The Ordinary, I just got the AHA 30% BHA 2% Peeling Solution for like seven bucks, but my skin is crazy smooth right now. I have issues with tiny whitehead clusters and my skin's pretty used to AHAs and BHAs by now so it felt very mild to me. I bet if you went straight to it right away, it'd be super irritating. It blows my mind how reasonable the prices are; many of their products are either cheaper or the same price as the drugstore in my area.

I believe I heard about the brand from Gothamista on Youtube, who I also think is worth checking out if you're interested in skin stuff, especially if you like Asian brands. Her videos are pretty relaxing and she seems to be knowledgeable. I can't remember if anyone has mentioned her yet.

Girl no. Apricot pit scrubs are horrible for your skin and age you faster. It shreds your face and makes you wrinkly. I use a cheap Korean chemical exfoliatior and it’s way nicer and doesn’t fuck up your face.

Tbh burts bees makes a really nice moisturizer that I use :o It's the clary sage one and it's super soft and doesn't make me feel like I dipped my face into a vat of oil.

Had a bad reaction to my bf's bedsheets and woke up with one side of my face covered in tiny pimples. I wanna cry

So I just added those 2% AHA Stridex wipes in the red box to my skincare routine and it has done wonders in just a few weeks. And it's like $4
