I'm a bit older, so I use a mix of Clarins and Olay Regenerist, then throw in a weekly oil scrub and bi-weekly treatment masks. 2x per month, I use a dead sea mud treatment.

I use Olay face wash, Clarin's Double Serum, Clarins Multi-Active Day cream, Regenerist eye cream in the morning.

In the evening I use Ponds Cold Cream to remove makeup if, I'm wearing any, before using a face wash, then I put on Regenerist night cream and more eye cream.

Right now my current mask stash includes Benton Snail Bee, Soo Ae donkey milk, Masqueology Collagen Hydrogel gold mask, Tonymoly Pureness 100 propolis and caviar masks. The Snailbee and gold Hydrogel give me the best results.

If I go out into the sun at all, I use a high SPF sunblock on my face, neck and ears. (Don't forget the tips of your ears ladies) also I cover my head to avoid sunburned scalp, and I wear large sunglasses to avoid sun damage to the eye area. I look like a weirdo at the pool, but at least I don't look like a wrinkly tanned saddle bag.

I never get any breakouts, even around my period. I'm looking pretty good for my age. I've seen some of the women I went to high school with who clearly aren't doing anything for their skin and they look twice as old as I do. I've got a couple fine lines, but at my age that's not bad.

Vanicream face wash and vanicream lite moisturizer mixed with their spf in the morning if I'm going out (along with coconut oil around my eyes and on dry patches if I have any)... Same face wash followed by Epiduo at night. Sometimes I toss in yes to tomatoes daily facial scrub (meh, just using it as my scrub until I run out of it) or their charcoal cleanser (what I actually meant to buy and somehow derped ). Pretty simple and it works for me.

If my face is breaking out super badly (around PMS time) I use the neutrogena oil free cleanser (the orange one) and it's decent too. The SA helps, but in combination with my Epiduo it can make my face a little dry. I'm on spironolactone so my cysts aren't as bad as they were before, thank God...

I have a lot of acne scars and purplish discoloration on my cheeks and chin that have been lazered once with not much success. My skin is suuuuuper sensitive so I'm afraid to use any more chemical exfoliants. Do you guys know of anything else I can try? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Especially for the discoloration. It makes me kind of look like I have a red mustache and soulpatch sometimes for some reason lol

I recommend the glycolic acid toner I mention in the OP for twice daily use and results with the hyper pigmentation, and weekly I'd throw in something like this mask. I don't know what country you're in, but basically everywhere that's not America you can get retin-a cream (before and afters) over the counter. Highly recommend you pick some up, if you're in the US and your insurance sucks or you don't want to wait a month to see a dermatologist just order some online from India, I can teach you how to do that in PMs.

Oooooh I'll join in

I'm pretty young, pasty pale ghost, and more dry/acne/redness prone. I used to look like a damn drug addict with scabs all over my face but thankfully I've got it under pretty damned great control with my routine. I only ever have problems if I drink milk or its lady week.

-burts bees royal jelly foaming face wash (smells kind of nice, makes my face feel soft, otherwise not incredibly note worthy tbh it was on sale, I needed a wash, and it sounded nice. Will look for better once done with)

-Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner (I prefer the rose over lavender, mostly scent preference)

-SheaMoisture Peace Rose Oil Facial Moisturizer ( I really don't care for this at all, It's supposed to be for sensitive skin but I feel as if it irritates me, and almost stings? I'm only trying to use it up at this point. I think I'll buy what I had before because I really enjoyed that, and it was SkinFoods facial water vita-c cream. I loved it, so gentle and watery. More gel than cream.)

-Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy finish spf50 (Smells like lemon poppy seed and doesn't leave a white cast, nor does it make your skin all oily and greasy like some spf's do. Does its job, smells great, cute packaging 10/10)

- A spritz of my diy face mist which is basically water in a spray bottle with apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil, and a few drops of lavender oil. It sounds a bit much but it keeps my acne down better than anything else, I use this religiously and if I'm not wearing makeup/at home I'll spray my face once or twice again throughout my day

-Coconut oil is my god send for makeup removing

- I use St. Ive's oatmeal exfoliater next every other day. (again its alright. nothing great and I'm planning on just using this up and finding something else. Probably something less abrasive and more chemical based because I read about st. ives exfoliaters giving you micro abrasions which aren't great, especially if acne prone *sigh* )

-Burts bees foam again

-Thayers Toner again

-And my diy spritz for a final time

-Aztec healing clay owns my soul. I use it once a week. Twice if it's shark week to remind my face who's in charge. Makes me look like my face is sun burnt for an hour or so but truthfully it really really helps with my redness and acne.

- And I absolutely love Too Cool For School's Pumpkin sleeping pack, I use it when I feel it's needed. Just slather it on in replace of a moisturizer, sleep, and wash off in the morning. And no need to worry about it getting on your pillow either, this absorbs into your skin fairly quickly leaving only a small moisturizing barrier and not a sloppy mess

-Now and then I also buy a pack of whatever sheet mask bundles are cheapest on amazon at that point in time. So far I like tony moly's I'm Real line and Innisfree It's Real Squeeze. I just slowly use those up whenever I want to treat my self

I've really gotten into skincare and taking care of my face, but there's still a lot to learn tbh, this shit's a science and I'm not a scientist. (shout out to dermatologists, you're all grossly underrated) So nice thread idea, I'll check in here frequently. :heart-full:

Nothing really worked for me beyond just making it worse, so I just pull a Spartan and scrape the shit off with a knife before I shower.

I sweat like a motherfucker anyway. It would take an entire bottle to wash.

I swear by my left tit that Cetaphil, Benzaclin, and Minocycline are the key to clear skin. I do NOTHING else, except maaaybe apply Vanicream moisturizer if it's particularly dry out. Crystal fucking clear as long as you take/apply regularly. Benzaclin and Minocycline are prescribed but I doubt it's hard to hit up your doc and be like "I need this shit to get rid of pepperoni face" and if you aren't prone to drying out then you're fucking golden.

I'm a dermatillomaniac (compulsively picking skin because fucking exceptionalism) and this shit literally saved me from looking like a skitzo with my face was always bleeding bc I had acne to pick at.

you put oil on your face????????????????? wtffffff if i put oil on my face i would wake up looking like a fucking pizza pie. my skin has enough oil to sell out BP.

I know someone already answered you but I'll chime in as well. I've had the classic T-zone oily face (across the forehead and down the nose and chin area) since my teens.

I used a simple Nivea moisturiser for years then read about using oils. I was hugely sceptical, but I'd also looked at the billions of chemicals in my moisturiser and thought there's nothing to lose by trying something natural.

Buying oil moisturisers from the chemists/drugstores looked expensive so I decided to mix my own (worked out roughly £35 in store versus £5 max for each bottle made myself). I got a pack of small empty bottles then mixed half almond oil and half jojoba oil. I added some drops of pure tea tree oil and lavender oil.

It worked great and I'm now a convert to oils instead of creams. I use it really sparingly or my face is shiny but my skin feels plump and I've gone from a few hormonal spots/zits monthly to maybe one or two at most, sometimes none. There's different base and essential oils you can chose from to mix your own 'potion'.

I wash my face in the morning and evening with plain water then apply the oil. Every other day, I use St Ives exfoliator or an exfoliating mask I like that smells like raspberry yoghurt (found in Superdrug, for UK Kiwis).

I also only drink water unless I'm eating out, rarely bother with foundation, and don't sunbathe (I go full lobster in the sun anyway).

As for men, there's so many products available nowadays for them and there's no way I'd mock a guy for using a few products. An ex used a few, solely from the men's section but he let me use that face mask on him and loved the smell and skin softness afterwards. So guys reading this, don't fear our pretty pink packaging and lovely scents!

I live and die by the Mizon snail line, charcoal and egg white soaps, and micellar water. My skin doesn't look pitted and sad anymore, I love it.

I use a mix of Mary Kay products ,Neutrogena , fruit and stuff around the house. I like using grapefruit skins/peels and orange peel tea on my face. Then sometimes for shaving a coconut milk ( m i l k )bath is nice and I find coconut oil makes my skin feel really nice instead of dried out or making a tummeric paste for hair removal though thats pretty messy and looks gross but its pretty gentle on the skin.

I don't know about you guys, but I just use a razor to lightly remove the top few layers of skin, then use pore strips over my entire face, and finish off by waxing my face, eyelashes and eyebrows included.

But more seriously, I've never gone wrong with using body scrubs on my face, and then finishing with cheap own-brand moisturising cream. After I switched from literally only ever using regular soap for all cleaning purposes besides hair, my skin cleared right up and now it feels like actual skin rather than the surface of the Moon.

Does anyone know a good way to get clindamycin without a prescription? I have no desire to go to the dermatologist on top of all the other doctors I already go to.

I have super dry skin and the only thing that works for me is Mizon snail repair cream.

My routine is just:

- Cleanse with Banilla co Clean It Zero Purity.
It's an oil-based cleansing balm. Every 3rd day I use a very soft, dense brush with the cleanser to exfoliate. I'd like to exfoliate every day but my skin dries out too much if I do.

- Apply Mizon All-in-One Snail Repair cream & Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream

-At night I'll use a Mizon snail repair sleeping pack, or if I want something lighter I'll use Tony Moly Panda's Dream White sleeping pack.

If I break out I use these little adhesive stickers with tea tree oil. They're just little clear stickers you put over a spot and it dries it out. They're Skin Foods Trouble Clear Spot Patches. They work really well and they're great to use the night before an event to smooth out any spots you have. I also use It's Skin Secret Solution Clear Essence more generally in any my trouble areas, whether or not there are visible spots (for anyone wondering, I only use the SS on my temples and chin, which are areas on my face where the skin is normal. My dry problem areas are my nose and forehead.

I'm still trying to find a good toner. I have to be careful with products because so many toners are drying. I got a few sample bottles of Tony Moly Nutra Essence Toner, and I'm planning on trying it out tonight. If anyone has any suggestions of toners that are good for people with ultra dry skin (preferably alcohol free), please let me know! I use Korean products because I've found I get the best results from them, and they're good value for money.

I also use a face mask once a week. I always use snail-based ones from various brands. Second party Korean beauty vendors tend to be very generous with samples (I have a box under my sink filled entirely with testers I obtained with the products I order) so I'll try whatever masks they send me. I really want to try those cheap Chinese silk masks but don't know of any suppliers.

A good diet and limited alcohol intake could help you avoid using most of these products tbh.
Think about this thread as learning keto instead of just being told "lol eat less, dipshit."

Search for the product plus India and if you go to checkout and it redirects you to a domain rxworldservice, you are actually going to be sent the product and not have your cc info raped.

I had cystic acne, took Roaccutaine for a year, and had perfect skin for a decade. Hit my 30's and I've suddenly started getting clusters of cystic acne again. I'm heartbroken but don't want to go back on Roaccutaine for another course because it turned me into a psychotic hosebeast.

My skin routine is pretty much non-existent as I'm too freaked out to put anything on. Outbreaks are so unpredictable I can never gauge what sparks it and what controls it. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm desperate at this point and a decent skin routine might actually get things back under control...I look like an elderly teenager.

You can get an isotretinoin the same way I described in the previous comment. I've never heard of it driving people insane, which is unfortunate for you, but so long as it's not drank on or gotten pregnant with moat people are OK.

So I hate washing my face with cleanser and water unless I'm in the shower because of :autism: (I'm assuming) so here's my routine:

Morning -
- Micellar water (usually Garnier or Simple)
- Origins Gin-zing eye cream
- Spot treat with benzoyl peroxide if necessary
- Cerave moisturizing lotion

Night -
- Simple makeup remover wipes (if I wore makeup)
- Micellar water
- Algenist eye cream
- Benzoyl peroxide if necessary
- Sometimes throw in Murad T-Zone Perfector (weak glycolic acid solution pretty sure with some other stuff. I got it for cheap at my old job)
- Cerave moisturizing lotion

If I'm in the shower I wash my face with Murad Renewing Cleansing cream.

I'm also a face mask junkie so I throw those in all the time, usually at night.

I really want to start adding glycolic acid but it's summer, I'm out of my HG face sunscreen (Biore Watery Essence) and it takes like 3 months to get here from fucking Japan. I like to moderately tan and I'm not staying out of the sun all summer when it's beautiful. So I'm guessing I'll have to wait til fall when the sun intensity dies down. I still get mild SPF protection from my BB/CC creams and primers.

My skin went from dry to a more combo skintype and now I pretty much only have big pores, mild redness, and occasional breakouts as concerns. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@mdrop22 you might be interested in taking a look at this bloggers recommendation list, she includes the best of the best of both expensive and inexpensive products. This is one of the few beauty blogs I bother with, you can probably find a good substitute to your preferred Japanese product in the meantime, three months is a long time to wait!

I'm so skeptical of any Western sunscreens because of white cast. I wear makeup most days and I'm not trying to look like a ghost, or have too much physical sunscreen caking up my skin. I don't know if anyone is familiar with the Biore Watery Essence sunscreen but it is the shit. It's basically a serum consistency, SPF 50, and leaves no white cast or residue. It dries totally matte and smooth.

I just don't understand why it takes months to get here from Amazon. It's not like it's coming from another planet.

I am going to check out the exfoliants section though. Thanks for the blog link
