Just an aside: I 100% support more marketing of men's skincare products. EVERYONE needs a good regimen, it's not just for girls! Skincare is so important. Even if you're just using drugstore stuff (I wish I could, none of it works for me), at least it's something.
I got Mr. Sparklepants into skincare. Taking care of your organs shouldn't be a girly thing, but it is funny when he's got one of the kawaii sheet masks on. There definitely needs to be more focus on men's skin, seeing a guy past his teens with easily fixable skin makes me cringe.

@fire_fly, oh wow, I just read a nightmare article about Mario Badescu's products and consumers having terrible reactions to it, including a class action lawsuit over products that disfigured people's skin and didn't have steroids disclosed in the ingredients list. Glad you've found something that works for you, but I'd feel bad if I didn't make you aware of his track record, least one of his new products is janky.

Well, shit! Thanks for the info, I'll definitely be taking a closer look next time. And I'm usually all about checking ingredients, too...

lol well, even if you were checking ingredients he was leaving some out. I think he was also selling products that were entirely missing the ingredients it was advertised as having. Dude is a scam artist, so maybe start browsing for replacement in case he ends up going under.

I'm already almost out of most of those things, so... yeah lol. Back to square one.

I used to do a milk and honey mask. Avocado and mud is fantastic, as well. I should go back to that.

Oh, and also, NEVER use sugar when you're doing homemade facials. It's so damagingly abrasive...

Edit: Forgot about the word filter. I am not changing it, and I stand by it. Milk is God's gift

hello kiwis it is necro time

I've been using the Formula 10.0.6 product line ever since @fire_fly recommended it to me, as I am a living oil slick with Kailyn Wilcher bad skin (thx genetics). Stopped by Ulta today to restock on my face wash and pick up a couple other goodies...a different face wash, that "burning" mask (which I love), and some night cream.

Does anyone know if Tonymoly products actually work? I know Asian skincare is THE THING right now, and I've gotten some of their sheet masks before (mixed feelings about sheet masks in general), but I notice they seem to be kind of gimmicky...their "banana" products have adorable packaging but I don't know if maybe that could be making up for them possibly not being so effective?? Maybe taking care of my horrible skin wouldn't be so depressing if one of the products was shaped like a cute banana.

Either way I left with way more than I came for. My wallet weeps but my skin is hopeful.

Old poster, long time lurker here, just wanted to give my acne/rosascea ridden peeps a rec. I've been using ZenMed for my pretty bad acne/rosascea combo I got going on, in addition to lifestyle changes and birth control. I had some REALLY bad post acne scarring and tissue buildup from not dealing with it sooner, and it's basically all gone now.

Here's a gross before and after, if anyone's curious: http://imgur.com/a/TtYsi

Also, what do you guys recommend for acne or rosascea friendly makeup? I've been having a hell of a time trying to find some that doesn't break me out, and I'm dying for recs over here.

Wow! Your skin looks amazing now! I'd move away from foundation if that's what you're using and move into bb cream. I use one from Tarte that leaves my skin dewy and glowing all day, it was 38 bucks, so to a sephora and get your skin matched.

I had cystic acne, took Roaccutaine for a year, and had perfect skin for a decade. Hit my 30's and I've suddenly started getting clusters of cystic acne again. I'm heartbroken but don't want to go back on Roaccutaine for another course because it turned me into a psychotic hosebeast.

My skin routine is pretty much non-existent as I'm too freaked out to put anything on. Outbreaks are so unpredictable I can never gauge what sparks it and what controls it. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm desperate at this point and a decent skin routine might actually get things back under control...I look like an elderly teenager.

Accutane saved my life.

but honestly if you go to the doc, they might put you on an antibiotic or cream that will work better NOW you've done one roaccutane course.

wow your skin looks awesome now :o
I agree with @entropyseekswork bb work should do the work it should have enough coverage, I would stay away from the garnier BB cream one though it got zero coverage in case you're looking for some drugstore one

Has any tried any of The Ordinary products? I'm intrigued by the low prices for what looks like an impressive list of actives. I'm eyeing the Lactic Acid 5% + Hyaluronic 2% and the Vit C Suspension. I've never used straight vitamin C because the formulas are always so expensive.

Thanks! I'm much less anxious now that I'm not a literal tomato. And Tarte, huh? I think I saw that at my local Sephora, so I'll def go check it out. Thanks!

:late:, but for my morning routine, I soak a clean washcloth in warm water and wipe away the grime from the night. Then, I follow with Mario Badescu Alpha Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion(basically a toner). Next I press a few drops of Fresh Seaberry face oil onto my skin, followed by Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer. And finish with Supergoop CC cream spf 40.

For nighttime, I use Mario Badescu eye makeup remover gel for my mascara and eyeliner removal. Next, I cleanse with Nuxe Comforting Cleansing Milk with rose petals, followed by the Nuxe Gentel Toning Lotion which also has the rose essence. Then, I repeat with the Perricone MD moisturizer that I use in the morning as well as the Fresh Seaberry oil, but I also add Couvent Des Minimes eye cream.

I also liberally spritz myself with rose water or coconut water after my daily hot yoga classes. I feel like it helps keep my skin hydrated until I can make it to a shower. Also, it just feels awesome.

Anyone have tiny patches of repetitively scaly skin that just keeps doing that?

How do you get rid of that?

Oh shit! I just read what was said about Badescu's products! That makes me so sad. I've been using several of them for years.

@AnOminous, do you exfoliate regularly? A mild glycolic cleanser could be helpful. Especially if you follow with a gentle moisturizer. Pixi makes a product that's called Rose Oil Blend that works wonders for my winter itchy spots.

Morning:
Estee Lauder: "Makeup Removing Lotion"
Coconut Oil as a double cleanse
Neutrogena: Light Cleanse and Deep Cleanse Face Wash (My bf swears by these and his skin is gorgeous.)
Lush: "Angels on Bare Skin" (I use this for my acne scarring, since I used to pick my skin a lot and there was an overnight improvement. This cleanser is worth the money.)
Pixi Toner
Estee Lauder: "Revitalizing Eye Cream"
Caudalie: "Mousturizing Sorbet"

The night routine is usually the same, but instead of moisturizer, I use The Face Shop 'Pomegranate Collagen Night Pack"
Some pro tips: If you're using a water based product, check where they're getting the water from. Most U.S. based brands get their water from Mexico, which is known to be highly contaminated. I would stick to Italian or Swedish companies, since they usually get their water from the Alps.
Saw some people on this thread mentioning shaving your face, use coconut butter instead of shaving cream, and it leaves the skin softer and no stubble.
To remove blackheads use charcoal based soap. This stuff can work miracles.

For makeup, "Pixi" H2o Skin Tint is amazing. It's super light, and it allows the skin to breathe and provides good coverage for any blemishes. I've been using it for a few weeks, and my skin got a lot better. My only complaint is that it doesn't have any SPF, but it's overall a very good product. 24$ (CAD) and worth the price.

Moisturizer and chemical peels. I have patches from a botched visit to an esthician, that keeps it in check.

Edit: moisturising was the answer

That's incredible! Good for you for finding something that works.

How long of a time difference is there between the two pictures?
